She also wrote a few new Christmas songs to be featured in a broadway musical. I think that song was going to be used in it as well, but it never happened.James wrote: Wow, that's some good information there. I never knew that Mariah recorded it, but now that I think about it, it really would've sounded good if she'd have done it.

Who do you think should be the next Disney musical artist?
Really? Cool. But would the musical be about her, or a new concept, because Glitter bombed critically and at the box office, and I'm not sure if she'd want to follow on that road again. And I can see why the song wasn't chosen for the musical. Obviously Christmas songs don't feature prominently in musicals, so not many was needed, and she probably didn't want to use her back catalogue, so to speak. And that song doesn't really fit with any other movies or storylines, other than The Grinch's, so it wouldn't really fit into the musical, unless it's of The Grinch, of course.

My favourite album is "Uh Oh", which of course has material unsuitable for a Disney film.Mr. Toad wrote:Netty - while I heartedly cocnur with David Byrne his lyrics may be a little too witty and subversive for Disney. Little Creatures is one of my favorites.
But I don't agree with what you've typed. Just get out True Stories (preferably the movie for the actors singing rather than the album which is sung by Talking Heads) and there's a wide range of styles just in that one film.
Dream Operator is an ideal Disney song (especially when you hear Annie McEnroe singing it in the film, rather than Byrne on the album) and City of Dreams almost always brings a tear to my eye at the end of the film.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
I have no idea what the actual storyline was going to be. Oh, I was going to force my boyfriend to watch Glitter the other day....James wrote:Really? Cool.
