How come you have nothing for Christmas this year? Did your family celebrate Christmas at all? If not, then I felt sorry for you. :(

This really is shaping up to be the best Christmas of the New Millenium for me - my Mother not only gave me her old (which was totally new for her) barely used stereo-TV (that means Stereo Speakers, by the way, not Stereo Music System speakers, just incase I confused any - I confused myself though) simply because she doesn't watch TV that much anymore, but when she got a new Stereo System - she gave me her old one. It is really old, of course, but I don't have any stereo, I barely listen to music off the computer but once a week and only through my DVD player playing on my TV. So this was much better than the other option of having that stereo or none at all. The only problem is that it has a real attitude about Burned CD's - it plays some but not others. But, for those I can still listen to them on my Old Smaller Mono-TV (which is, pathetically, what I used to listen to my CDs anyway before I got this Stereo).

This Christmas - I basically got everything I desperately wanted! - a Stereo-Speaker TV, lots of Candy, DVDs, a CD Player Stereo System, and a substantial amount of Cash. I knew all that hard-work, personal tragedy, and oppression would pay off one day. For all the negative, it's great to have a Season of Positive. Well... except for all the computer problems I've been having- but at least they don't affect my Computer's internet speed- that's still as fast as I ever need it to be, which is the only reason I use the computer except to type. And hey- I got so much stuff now, I won't need the computer as much as I use it. Which means... Oh, I never thought about it, less time to spend with you guys. Oh well, it was nice knowing you. Remember me fondly. I'm blowing this Pop Stand. So long, Losers!

Just kidding.

See you later... at 7AM, 11:30AM, 2:45PM today, and 4AM tomorrow... I have no life. Wouldn't have it any other way.

That really does suck. Where did you spend Christmas, what did you do? Did you at least have dinner with family or friends? What's the deal, because even when I was first out of my parent's house starting out on my own, my friends and I always had Christmasses and got things, and gave stuff to each other. What went wrong?

Another great DVD! I got mine back around Halloween. The documentary is awesome!!!
Good. I decided that I wasn't going to buy this DVD for myself when it came out because there has already been so much documenting of Halloween, the movie. Basically, any question I ever had about the original movie, as amazing as it is, I've already had answered by the 2 Anchor Bay special edition DVDs, with their 2000 Unmasked featurette, the 2003 A Cut About the Rest documentary, and the Criterion Collection audio commentary - this movie has received a lot of attention and been covered fairly well. But I wanted the DVD just because I discovered it had Interviews with Nancy Loomis about Halloween - and she has never spoken about any of the movies she's starred in, also including The Fog and Halloween III: Season of the Witch among others. But when I got the DVD, I realized just how much was on it, covering the Entire Series (up to Part 6, that is). And it is one of my least favorite horror franchises, so I could stand a little education on it. When I saw just how much it offered, and that it was only $20(!), I had to keep it. I can't wait to dig into it. I really hope that somewhere in the Extras, they include Trailers for Halloween's 4 and 5, since I don't plan on buying those DVDs anytime soon. Though, both are also due (or have recently received) big Divimax Special Editions (which is a little crazy - certainly it's overkill, overdoing it). Anchor Bay should be focusing more attention on the Dario Argento films they've sort of neglected, like Tenebre (1982) and Phenomena (1984) - with 2-disc expanded editions of both films.

As expected, I received the 4 new Disney Treasures Tins, plus the Gummi Bears set from my little sister.

As for non-Disney DVDs, I got "The Happy Elf," "Harry for the Holidays," Brian Setzer Orchestra "Christmas Extravaganza," and Seasons 2-4 of Smallville.

Some of the non-DVD stuff I got: The Disney Gremlins book, an Ariel bookmark, figures of Mayor West and the Greased Up Guy from Family Guy, a Barbie as Hilary Duff doll (the black and red clothed one), a fan with air filter for my room, a sound machine (you know, those things with nature sounds to relax you) from my older sister's fam, the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck Companion and the second volume of DuckTales comics, a Hilary Duff Calendar, a talking Ralphie figure in the pink bunny costume, and money from my grandparents. I could be forgetting something.

Also, I went to the mall today and got the Ragetti figure from Pirates of the Caribbean, which was half price at Suncoast. I've been collecting the Neca line since the beginning (I think the brand is called Neca, or something similar), and have 6 so far (though I need several and am dying to get Davy Jones). I have Series 1 Jack (not smiling), Barbosa, Cursed Pirate, and Will, and I have the Elizabeth from the first film, and now I have Ragetti (the guy with the wooden eyeball). The only one I paid full price for was Elizabeth, I believe.

Ha, my family eats Christmas Dinner at a buffet too. Lin's Chinese Buffet (though it has a lot of non-Chinese food too). We always used to do a rehash of Thanksgiving dinner on Christmas day, like most folks probably, but 4 or so years ago, we took a cue from "A Christmas Story," and we've been really happy with the change. Two big turkey feasts a year is too much, ha. We still make all the pies, cookies, and cake though. The deserts at Lin's aren't that great.

I spent it at home with my "family". Youd think we would celebrate it, I mean we decorated the house and got a tree and everything. Unfortunately, we moved about 2 months ago so all my friends are 4 hours away. I dont know. Maybe I breathed too much or something.

So that's why you don't have nothing for Christmas. I'd seen your point. I know its hard that you've moved your house around 2 months ago, missed your old friends, and such. The best gift you have for Christmas was a new house, and you don't need any junk for Christmas. Christmas, in my opinion, is about spending time with your family so why are you still sad about it? Let's face it, you have to start a new life living in your new house and meet new friends. Maybe someday you'll find something interesting to enjoy! I wasn't trying to make you upset, I was just encouraging you to find something for you to do. Good luck, though. :)

You've got to be kidding me. How come? Is there something wrong with your family? I felt even sorry for you after you've been suffering so much.

I know we're been way off-topic in this thread, but try at least spend time with your family or things will get even worse. Just try it, pretty please? :P

Anywho, yea, we've gone off topic, but this IS the "off topic" board! :p

Yeah, but this thread is about posting a reply about what kind of gifts he or she received from his/her family, not just for chit-chat about problems. And I know I don't want to get in trouble for being off-topic, so I'll just let it slide. :P

xxhplinkxx, I am really sorry to hear that. :( In a way, I can empathize with your not having a good Christmas, because aside from this year, I feel all past Christmases for the last seven years have been rubbish (for me, because of personal reasons). I will not ask you what's wrong with your family as it is none of my business and may make you uncomfortable, but I do hope that your situation resolves itself, OK? :) Ooopss...by the way! :oops: I still have to apologize for not including you in that cast list on that other thread, remember? I want you to know that I haven't forgotten you. :) By the way, since I want to cheer you up, this is an opportune moment for me to say that you look friggin awesome as captain Jack Sparrow!

* * *

I had very low expectations this year, but I did get some presents. I received a pair of slippers, some vests, a wristwatch, and (drumroll) the Official A-Z Disney Encyclopedia!!

I'm very happy with my gifts!

* * *

Back to xxhplinkxx: Have a Happy New Year and start afresh!
