After a long tussle with my conscience, I'd probably have to give the edge to Frollo. The tension between Hades' cool, charismatic exterior and his explosive, violent temper is simply irresistable, and James Woods did an absolutely knock-out job with the voice-over, but Frollo...as Disney villians go he's simply amazing. Deliciously dark, hauntingly delusional, and with that juicy 'Hellfire' number to boot...Claude, I'd take off my puffy, over-sized hat to you if I wore one.

Coming up with a complete Top 5 would be a bit tricky for me - my favouritism is basically reserved for two villians above all others; Judge Claude Frollo from the Hunchback of Notre Dame and Hades from Hercules. Two very fantastic (and vastly discordant) Disney bad guys who by turn manage to chill and delight me. The only problem I'm faced with is which to designate to the 1) slot and which to 2)...

Favorite Disney Villains
Fav. Disney Villains *thinks real hard* so many to choose yet few I personaly adore for their motives/personality.
B.B. Wolf: I love Art Babbit's design and cleverness of the character, such personality that could be overcomed by eagerness yet his song doesn't earn any respect from his rivals *chuckles* he's a wonderful villain and the perfect representer for "The 3 Lil Pigs" for generations. Btw...He's been making a mega comeback in Disney Stores if you look real hard in the hat/Shirts department.
Shere Khan: Such politeness, perfect animation from Milt Khal especialy in the cilmax, Khal captured the likeness of a real tiger beautifuly.
Capt. Hook: Though he's not dead on to his Barrie verison, he's as crafty as Barrie's Hook was, Han C. sparked Capt. Hook a whole new personailty from a dark, mysterious, ruthless Captian to a confident, menacing, polite, mama's boy.
Peg Leg Pete: Disney's 1st star/Villain, he's been the leader of Disney Villains starting back to the Alice Comedies and what an Achivement for a baddie to a career lasting more than 80 years (I believe). Billy Butcher's voice would send lil kids in fright if Pete was gon'na get the upper hand.
Ursula: Kinda dissapointed with this charcter, sure Ursula has wonderful motive to abuse our heroine, but she came alil strong when she tried to overthrow King Trition, she remains a mystery during some parts of the film untill the climax. yet we enjoy her "Unfortnate Song".
Those are favorite Disney Villains.

Top five, hmm? I have to make two groups:
Serious Villains
1. Ursula ~ If it wasn't for this divine villainess, I probably wouldn't be posting here now. She's been my number one favorite character since I was kid and helped me to become the semi-artist I am today. She's an animated wonder (gotta love the tentacles) and probably one of the most risque characters ever (based on Divine? Awesome!!). She may not come off as threatening as a villainess like the Evil Queen, but her motive is, without a doubt, more realistic/understandable and her decisions are much more calculated. I'm going to stop here, cause I could go on all day.
2. Shan-Yu ~ What can I say? This guy's probably the most terrible and chilling Disney Villain (meaning male) there has ever been. Probably because the viewer knows there have been and still are people who can kill as ruthlessly.
3. Lady Tremaine ~ The stepmother, often enough, gets pushed to the back of the line when compared to such characters as Maleficent, but I've always had a twisted fascination with this woman. I think it all comes down to how she's compared with the Fairy Godmother. The Fairy Godmother is good and powerful, but she's a complete twit (and the audience knows this). The stepmother, in contrast, is cunning and opportunistic. I've often wondered if (perhaps) the Fairy Godmother was supposed to represent (metaphorically) Cinderella's actual deceased mother who came down to set things right (in older fairy tales, Cinderella cries under the tree where her mother was buried). This would probably be more obvious if "The Dress That My Mother Wore" hadn't been cut from the film (which is beautiful, by the way). Sorry for getting off-subject there.
4. Frollo ~ What does there need to be said about this guy?
5. Madame Medusa ~ Using children without families to find your buried diamond while, at the same time, making them feel completely worthless? Villainy at its best.
Likable Villains That Couldn't Be Taken Seriously
1 Hades ~ He's funny and wrathful, but could I ever really consider him a threat? Of course not. That's why the Titans set the movie's climax.
2. Madame Mim ~ This old woman cracks me up every time I see her in the movie. But noone ever expects her to be a match for Merlin.
3. Cruella ~ Although I love watching her drive, her motive is completely ridiculus. "Let's steal a bunch of dalmations so I can have a nice coat?" She's very intimidating to watch, but so selfish it's silly.
4. Jafar ~ I like the guy, really I do, but I can't stand his design. The way his mouth is drawn so comically just makes me lose all interest in him. Nice showdown though (one of the most powerful climaxes in a Disney film).
5. Yzma ~ The funniest villainess there ever was. I just couldn't stop laughing when she was turned into a cat there at the end.

greatest villain
Without doubt the greatest villain has to be the mighty Chernabog from the brilliant Fantasia. Maybe not many know his name but you'll never forget his face. "Boggy" IS the King of Disney if not the world. Long live the King!!
My top 5 villains:
1 Chernabog
2 Maleficent
3 Capt. Hook
4 The Horned King
5 The Queen (Snow White)

Here's a few Villains that I don't care for
1. Jafar - Sorry he's just so, so aggravating to me with the Sequel and the episode of Hercules where he teams up with Hades, and House of Villains, I'm just tired of him for some reason.
2. Syndrome - When I saw him I was like WTF!? UGH He is sooo annoying whenever he comes on when I watch the Incredibles now I mute the t.v and don't pay attention
3. Alameda Slime - A yodeling cowboy o-m-g one of the worst villains to date, I also mute this guy when he's on the t.v like I do to Syndrome
4. Steelbeak - He wins most annoying voice award, he's cool when the t.v's muted
So thats all I can think of right now - here's an updated list of fav. villains though
1. Chernabog - He's a god last time I checked
2. Scar - He actually won for a while, killed Mufasa, took over the kingdom, he just needed to be the one that killed Simba instead of leaving it to three Hyenas
3. Mad Madame Mim - She's so hilarious, could you see Maleficent pulling off a stunt like the Wizards Duel against the three fairys
4. Gaston - I'm not going to start on him lol
5. Frollo - He's cool, haven't seen him for a while
6. Evil Queen - Who would ask to see her dead stepdaughters heart? THATS Pure Evil in my book
7. Maleficent - Love the goat horns, she's evil because she can be
