lots of direct-to-video dvds coming!

Post by jasmine-rules »

I read on the big cartoon database, that there are lots of new direct-to-video dvds in the works. I don't know if they are correct, but they say that there will be:

Lilo and Stitch 2- 2004
Tarzan II- 2004- story picks up where original tarzan left off
The Hefalump movie- 2004
Three Muskateers- August 2004
Dumbo II- September 2004- gist of the movie- after accidentally getting disconnected from the circus, the animal children end up in the big city and have to find their way home
Mulan II- September 14, 2004- they say that the gist of the movie is that Mulan and Shang's wedding is interrupted as they are set off on a secret mission, Mushu also comes along to mess things up :D
Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas- November 2004
Bambi and the Great Prince- 2005
Mulan III -2005
The Emperor's Newer Groove- 2005

I hope that some of these sequals are better than some of the ones that disney has previously released.
Aladdin is THE best disney cartoon!

AAAAARRRRRGHHHHH!
:x  :x  :x

No Bambi sequel! NO!

And I was so relieved that the Dumbo sequel had apparently been dropped.

Sigh.

Disney is dead to me now. Seriously. Unless there's a miracle and Roy E. gets rid of Eisner and brings back Walt's spirit to the studio.

The only one that looks O.K. is the Hefalump movie - I love those looney hefalumps, they're the best part of the Pooh series, IMO.

The rest look like crap on deck that could choke a donkey.

Hmmm, some sound good and some sound like things that I will never watch and should never be made. Let's see which is which:

Lilo and Stitch 2- I want to see it, I'll watch anything with Stitch in it!
Tarzan II- Could be good, who knows?
The Hefalump movie- Not a Pooh fan, but I hope its good for those of you who are.
Three Muskateers- I saw one picture from it and am ready to buy! I admit, I will buy it if Mickey and the gang are in it.
Dumbo II- PURE BLASPHEMY!! If its not 2D I will not even give this a chance. A sequel must at least try to look somewhat like the original. But its just a bad idea.
Mulan II- Could be good if done right.
Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas- What I saw so far looked not good, I would like to see more footage but the cg just doesn't look good from what I've seen so far.
Bambi and the Great Prince- This is a sign of the APOCOLYPSE!
Mulan III -Could be okay if done well.
The Emperor's Newer Groove- This could be a good sequel. Do it right, get back the same voices and come up witha funny plot and it could be good.

Man does this just scream of desperation.
If I didn't know any better I'd think that Walt Disney Pictures just had a horrendous 2003 and was frantically planning on ways to make up the gap over the next two years.

Dumbo II :?
Bambi II :?

They sure as hell better be outsourcing this drivel, because if they are using what little traditional animation resources that remain on this instead of developing new titles .... okay.... time to slowly step away from the keyboard.

I think the Bambi sequel, which is the first time I heard of it, could be an interesting movie, so if its true that it will get released, let's not prejudge based on how bad The Rescuers Down Under and Cinderella 2 were.

The bad one would be Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs II: Still the fairest of them all.

Nothing compared to The Rescuers in my opinion, the story and plot I thought was weak, I mean The Rescuers had a great plot, DU (DisneyUltimate  )was a bit lost...

I agree that the plot has some problems, but I think it is a fun adventure. I really like the love triangle. :)
If Cody was just as loveable as Penny, probably the film would have been better. Not that I don't like Cody, but Penny makes you

That would really suck Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs II: Still the fairest of them all. That would really ruin everything. Why don't they just come up with new ideas. Walt did, his second movie wasn't Snow White II. After he died then they started doing sequels. They have just run out of ideas admit it Disney. :x

Rescuers Downunder is a great movie. Just as good as the first one. Maybe the second one had a little too much action, but hey, the first one made me fall asleep... every movie has its ups and downs, but putting Rescuers DU and Cinderella II in the same phrase, well that made me shudder for a second.

The Rescuers made you fall sleep??? Oh, well I fell sleep once but it was because I was extremely tired (4 o' clock in the morning) not because the film was boring...

The second film is a little more fast-paced than the first one, but that is actually one of its liabilities.

It would have been a much better film if it had not been a Rescuers movie. As a sequel to The Rescuers, it's very disappointing. If you see it first (like I did) then it's a really good movie.

Obviously, I'm looking forward to the Stitch sequel, and the The Hefalump movie is Pooh-related, so that is a no-brainer for me. The TENG sequel could also be fun.
I'm pretty indifferent about the rest, but I do look forward to the Three Muskateers, just for the chance to see the "Three" back in action together...
For some reason the Mulan sequels bug me. I don't hate the sequels, in fact I enjoy them. Just something about a sequel to Mulan...
