looking for disney dvd...

Post by disneyfella »

i'm looking for "Amy" on dvd. i know disney never released it on dvd and i'm wondering as to why anchor bay only released it on VHS and not dvd. does anyone know if this early 80s film will see the light of day on dvd? it seems feasible on this year's slate of catalog titles, but i can't seem to find any info on this title at all.

p.s. does anyone know if anchor bay was even planning on making a widescreen dvd transfer of it? why was this and "one of our dinosaurs is missing" the only titles that anchor bay had of disney that they did not release on dvd? was there a contractual messup there?

I don´t know the answer to your questions, but I must say that I love the film AMY. I can´t say exactly what it is, but I feel it so different from the other features The Disney Company done at that time.
Had it been produced a little later I am sure they had put it under the Touchsone banner instead.
The film among other things handle the tragic deaths of two children, one deaf and mute, the other blind.
It´s sad and tragic and come to an end before we really are through all matters that the film had risen, but that is what make it so good.
You must think for yourself a little - something we are not acustomed to do much in the films we see nowadays.
I really recommend this one.
Hope it will be released on DVD one day soon....

Looking For DVD Response

Amy was never released on DVD. It was put out 4 years ago by Anchor Bay Entertainment though on VHS. Even though the VHS is now out of print. You might be able to find a copy from www.moviesunlimited.com

That's Where i GotMine.

I hope that Disney puts this great film on DVD soon. It has always been one of my favorites.
