The "I love snow!" thread.
Yes, call me odd, but, I LOVE snow. Oklahoma doesn't see much, but, they are predicting that Tulsa, Oklahoma (and surrounding areas) could see between 4-6 inches of snow, tomorrow! I hope so! It will be the first snow of the season! Snow, snow, snow! I love it!

I also love snow! Of course, I don't have to deal with it regularly. We get it about once every hundred years where I live. Last time was two Christmases ago. It snowed on the night of Christmas eve, and in the morning, everything was covered in a blanket of white, and we had a big snowman in our yard because we stayed up all night making it. But, the sun came out, and everything was melted away by afternoon. We always hope we'll get another snow like that, but it will probably be another hundred years before we do.

Snow is frankly an amazing thing. But, due to the geographic location of the UK (or at least where I used to live), there rarely seems to be any worth noting at all. And hardly ever at Christmas. But in 2004, snow began to fall as night fell on Christmas Day, which was really magical.
I can understand how some people could hate it, though, especially if it upsets the schedule of life like it does in Canada. And avalanches are just evil.

Snow is one of the most beautiful forces of nature in our world.
It can be romantic, such as a snowfall as a man is proposing to the woman of his dreams in front of a Christmas Tree in the town square.
It can be deadly, like an avalanche that collapses upon a helpless little village.
It can be fun, with the joys of snowball fights, snowmen and other figures, and of course, snow angels.
I love snow.

snow....how can I possibly describe the sheer beauty that is snow??
I LOVE snow...especially when it's snowing outside and you're warm in your home drinking a cup of hot cocoa....now I REALLY want it to snow where I live! (Virginia)! We usually get some pretty good snow here. (I won't say feet like in NY, Colorado, or Minnesotta, but enough). But lately, its been in the sixties here....and not one sign of snow so far.
Snow always gets me in the Christmas Spirit and it brightens my day! Not to mention that usually if it snows even one inch, school gets cancelled here! So I can usually enjoy it at home when it snows!
YAY FOR SNOW!!!!!!

I love snow.....as long as I don't have to drive in it. Right now we are getting a mix of sleet, freezing rain and just plain old rain. The roads are slick and it's cold out. Normally I wouldn't mind but I'm out of leave at work so I have to go tomorrow. I'm hoping now that it gets bad enough that our director will close for the day:) Otherwise, I do like snow and it just doesn't feel like winter if ya don't have snow.
I love snow.... I miss snow! I moved to Florida this summer from Michigan and I am used to seeing snow by now. I'm having a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit without seeing snow, because to me snow has always been a sign of winter and the holidays. I'm excited to go home for a while for Christmas, and there darn well better be some snow there. You never know with Michigan though, we have the MOST unpredictable weather pattern.

Wow, what a difference a few hours makes! I got up this morning, and the temperature was near 70 degrees! I actually ended up turning the air conditioner on in my house, because it was was so warm, when I woke up this morning! Now, it's 7:06 p.m., and the temperature is 34 degrees, and the winter mix has begun! They are now predicting between 6-10 inches of snow! That is nearly unheard of in Oklahoma! I do hope it's true, because that would be more snow than we usually get in a winter! I'm so excited! I'm like a little kid, waiting for the snow to start!

It is a winter wonderland around here! I got up, this morning, to about a quarter of an inch of sleet. I headed into work, where it continued to sleet until after noon. By that time we had over an inch of sleet on the ground. It finally started snowing, and hasn't stopped! Right now, we have about 4 inches of snow, on top of the sleet, and they expect around 5-8 inches more, before it is all over, tomorrow! It's crazy! We got to close at work, two hours early. It took me well over an hour to get home from work, and it was terrible, the whole way home!
However, it is so white, and so beautiful out there! Everything is closed, and I get to stay in, all day, tomorrow, and enjoy it!

It's still snowing like crazy! In fact, we've even had some lightning, and thunder with the snow. Crazy! We have about 6 inches of snow, at least, on top of the sleet, with a few more hours to go before the storm pulls out. One location, north of Tulsa, is reporting 15 inches of snow! This is an amazing storm! We usually don't see snow like this in November. It is usually into January before we get a big snow storm, if we get one at all. Schools and businesses are shut down everywhere!

Snow lover here. What lights up a night that otherwise gets too dark too soon? What is the perfect excuse for staying sheltered inside and enjoying a movie or other activity instead of doing less enjoyable things? What is necessary for Christmas to feel like a complete success?
Snow! Snow! Snow!
While I can understand not liking it -- especially those with big driveways and jobs that require substantial drives in the face of inclement weather -- I myself absolutely love it. The only part I don't like? Dirty snow. I think us snow aficionados should band together and require all cars to pass cleanliness tests in order to drive on snowy roads. That would keep the snow nice and lovely for much longer.
Melting snow makes me sad.
