50 things you wish would come to DVD

Post by slave2moonlight »

This maybe has been done before. I just thought we could each list 50 movies, TV shows, or whatever else we wish would come out on DVD. If you want to post more than one set (of 50) go for it. Here are mine, in no particular order:

1. Song of the South
2. So Dear To My Heart
3. The Star Wars Holiday Special
4. Teen Wolf the Animated Series
5. Melody Time (unedited)
6. Make Mine Music (unedited)
7. Three Caballeros (unedited)
8. The Halloween That Almost Wasn't
9. The entire Disney anthology series, from the 50s to today (they can leave out the episodes that were just features, but should include the host segments, but all Von Drake episodes should be shown in their entirety)
10. The entire Mickey Mouse Club, from the 50s, 70s, and 90s, and including "The Mouseketeers At Walt Disney World"

11. Disney's Zorro series
12. Family Channel's Zorro series
13. Werewolf the series
14. The Love Bug TV series
15. Monster Squad
16. The Monster Squad TV series
17. The Drac Pack Animated Series
18. The Little Mermaid Animated Series
19. Aladdin Animated Series
20. Hercules Animated Series

21. Further Volumes of Disney shows that seem to have been forgotten, like Gargoyles and Lizzie McGuire
22. Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles
23. Quack Pack
24. Raw Toonage
25. Goof Troop
26. Bonkers
27. Shnookums and Meat
28. Timon and Pumbaa
29. House of Mouse
30. Mickey Mouse Works

31. Batman 60's TV series
32. Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure
33. The Chuck Jones Raggedy Ann and Andy Halloween and Christmas Specials
34. Complete releases of Sabrina the Animated Series and Sabrina's Secret Life
35. Complete release of Wizard of Oz animated series based on MGM film
36. Kim Possible complete release
37. Wuzzles
38. The ABC Weekend Specials
39. The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
40. Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, the TV Show

41. The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis
42. A Rerelease of the first two seasons of Sailor Moon uncut in original form that includes the DIC dubs also. Plus a release of the final season.
43. The live-action Sailor Moon series from Japan
44. A rerelease of "The Midnight Hour" Halloween TV movie made for ABC
45. Casper's First Christmas
46. Simply Mad About the Mouse
47. All unreleased Disney short cartoons (not to mention all their other stuff)
48. The Magic Christmas Tree (I barely remember seeing this movie as a kid and am curious to see it again)
49. Tiny Toon Adventures
50. Emperor's New School

I might do another set of 50 later.

I think it would take me the rest of my life to come up with 50 things I would like to see come to DVD, but I will totally back you up on your #15 pick of Monster Squad because that movie totally kicks ass!

I think it would be cool if some old Nickelodeon shows made their way to DVD (Ex. All That, Hey Dude, OLD SCHOOL Doug and Rugrats, Salute Your Shorts, ect)

Try adding it to this(mostly because I want this thread to be closer to the top so I can cross things off of it). I have about 100 items on it I think.

http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/vie ... unreleased

And not a bad list as long as you take Lizzie McGuire, which should be forgotten for all time, off of it.

Sorry, I didn't know if a similar list had already been done. I suppose this might as well just be merged with that one.

Also, I just remembered 4 titles that should have been among the first I mentioned! The 4 unreleased Ralphie films (as in, A Christmas Story and My Summer Story) made for PBS:

1. Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss
2. The Great American 4th of July and Other Disasters
3. Phantom of the Open Hearth
4. The Star-Crossed Romance of Josephine Cosnovsky
Those last 3 never even came out on VHS!

and three more I should have mentioned early on:

5. the complete Ewoks animated series
6. the complete Droids animated series
7. Big Wolf on Campus

And I agree about some of those Nick shows too. I even could think of a few more Disney shows. Yeah, I could easily come up with another 50.

As for Lizzie McGuire, Hilary Duff is my dreamgirl (despite how anorexic she looks now, especially with the big fake teeth), so I definitely will have to disagree.

That's what I thought, but I kept hearing otherwise. Was it Saludos Amigos that was edited then? Or are neither? I think it's something small, like a cigarette or cigar situation or something.

Only the first season is available at the moment, and sadly it doesn't look like the rest of the seasons will be released anytime soon. But hey, it's better than nothing!

Anyway, I would never be able to think of 50 at once, but I'll add more when I think of some. As for now, I'd LOVE to own...

Television Shows

Boy Meets World (Seasons 4+)
Laverne & Shirley (Seasons 2+)
Daria
Rugrats (Season Sets, not that stupid individual episode crap!)
Smart Guy
Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (on the way! :D)
Family Ties (Again, on the way!)
Aladdin
The Little Mermaid
Goof Troop
Jungle Cubs

Movies

Song of the South (everyone and their grandma wants this!)
Grease (2-Disc Edition, exnay on the lame edition name)
Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas
Fantasia
Fantasia 2000

I'm sure there's more...but most of the movies that I like are already available, but there are still plenty of TV series that I enjoy that have yet to be released.

Here's my list of things I'd like to see, I highly doubt I can think of 50 though.

101 Dalmatians the Series
Bonkers
The Wuzzles
X-Men , the original series
X-Men Evolution
Sailor Moon Seasons instead of the ones with 5-7 eps. only, pref. unedited
Digimon Seasons 1-2 anything after I didn't care for too much
Hamtaro Seasons
Goof Troop
The House of Mouse eps.
Little Mermaid Series
Hercules Series
Aladdin Series
The Mighty Ducks Series
Winnie The Pooh, I've seen dvds with somewhat random eps, I'd like Seasons sets like Talespin instead
Kratts Creatures
Disneys Jungle Cubs
Power Rangers Seasons would be nice also

Argh! How could I forget!!! My number 1 wish for a DVD treatment would definately be Sailor Moon!!! All seasons (5, I think).

As a bonus they'd have a Japanese track with subtitles.
PLUS, (remember this is just me wishing) the entire show would be redubbed with voices that match the actual characters this time, last time they had voice-changes and I think character-voices should have consistency.
The English version would be 100% restored, and the faded watercolor Japanese backgrounds would be replaced with colourful and realistic American art backgrounds. The English version would also been uncut and unedited, last time round, we missed out on so much each episodes, plus for once there would be an english dub of the final season.

:D I'm going to go post this in the Ultimate DVD Thread! But this time I'll do it properly.
