Christmas Presents:

Crash (Full Screen) 1 Disc R1 NTSC - $9.44
It pains me, really, to spend more money on this film. Yet, I know my friend'll enjoy it so ...

Superman Returns (Full-Screen Edition) 1 Disc R1 NTSC - $13.99
As well, it pains me to purchase this, one of my favorite films of the Summer, without picking up one for myself!

Anyways...
Tuesday:
East of Eden $9.99 at E/B Games (and in remarkably new condition)
Today:
Ultimate Superman Collection $69.88 on Amazon
-After reading about the whole disc fiasco, I had planned on cancelling my order, then re-ordering once it's confirmed that Amazon had the corrected sets. Unfortunately, at the end of last week they put my order in "Shipping Soon" mode (which itself was odd since I chose Free Shipping, which meant it would have shipped at the end of this week), and I couldn't cancel, so it came in today. I'm happy about getting it earlier than I expected (would've gotten it at the end of next week), but now I have to go through the whole disc replacement program, and hope they let me replace Disc 14 as well since it's Scratch City thanks to being loose.

Picked up Accepted and You, Me and Dupree at Sam's Club yesterday. Forgot what the prices were, I believe Accepted was $18.?? while Y,M&D was $17.9?, hu noz.
Also, Tuesday I decided to just pick up Superman Returns: SE and Superman II: The Donner Cut instead of getting the tin (which I myself couldn't find anywhere, btw). The only other movie in the tin of interest to me is the original Supes II.
Cheers,
JM

Boy Meets World S3, The Adventures of Pete & Pete S2 and The Office S1 NTSC R1
I received these as gifts from a not-secret santa mid-last week. To the people who sent them, many thanks. You know who you are. I've not watched any of them yet, but will do so in the order I've listed them.

An Inconvenient Truth NTSC R1
Wow. I knew it was coming on recycled materials, but I was a little taken aback by the packaging. I was expecting recycled plastic etc in a normal keep case. I see it says the packaging is actually carbon neutral and powered by "native energy". That's commitment. Shame Al Gore spends a lot of time jetting about in aeroplanes to deliver his lectures, making the packaging gimmick somewhat redundant

8/10 Cats: Claws Out PAL R2
I actually got this a week or two back, but I think I forgot to mention it because it came mid-week. For some reason, it's split into three 1/2 hour episodes so I guess they will be on TV soon, perhaps even over the Christmas break. Also, it's not as well edited as, for example, the Have I Got News For You compilations. I'm a little disappointed with it, I was expecting the Big Brother special to be on in its entirety because it was so funny, but it's not even show in that many excerpts. They've also not included some of what I would consider the best bits. We do get Vic Reeves' "ladder to the moon" though, which does make me cry with laughter.

Renaissance PAL R2
I actually got this at a supermarket for a price lower than Play's! Well, this has got mixed reviews, but most tend to fall on the side of "disappointing" but it will be worth a watch anyway. I'm a little disappointed because I thought this was a French film. We only have the English soundtrack on the disc. I would have preferred to have French with subtitles as an option. It's probably because France has its own disc released by a different distributor though.

Gangsters: The Complete Series PAL R2 4 Discs
Now there's an interesting story behind me buying this. Over on Roobarb's Forum on Zeta Minor (which has a section that specialises in British TV and Film DVDs) this was much desired when it was released. It started out as a "gritty" drama, but over the two years it was on it turned more and more surreal, with guest appearances by the cast of The Archers (in character) and even W.C. Fields as God (or something) and it literally ends with the characters walking off the BBC set. I was always intrigued by this, but it was too expensive to purchase on a whim. Until I saw it in WH Smiths for a reasonable price, plus they were having a 10% off day. I probably won't watch the whole lot, but I'm keen to see the second series where it all goes post-modern and fourth-wall breaking.

Wild West S1 & 2 PAL R2 2 Discs
Well, to be honest, I was a little non-plussed by S1 of Wild West (but it did have it's moments), but Ichabod assures me S2 is almost like a different show, so we'll see (He also tells me no Bill Bailey in S2, if I remember correctly
