"Totally Minnie"
Has anybody remember a TV special called "Totally Minnie". I downloaded it from Mousebits.com using BitTorrent last week and I ended up burning it on a VCD. The special was complete with the "Magical World of Disney" intros, bumpers and outros intact with no TV commercials there except the Disney/MGM Studios commercial from 1989.
I've seen the whole thing, but it has clips from Mickey Mouse shorts from the 1930's where it was colorized and a slew of Disney shorts and clips from feature films like "Snow White", "Bambi", "Peter Pan" and "Lady and the Tramp" are non-PE before it was restored into PE DVD's (except "PEter Pan" which will be out on DVD as a PE soon.) mixed in with 80's music in a DTV style show.
I've seen that special since I was 10 years old and that brings back so many memories of watching "Totally Minnie" on the "Magical World of Disney". I don't really upload this entire special separated into 6 parts on YouTube, because it's a copyright violation, but Unclejimboy already has a clip of just the intro here.
Does anybody remembered that special?

Hmm, well, I've seen other shows from that version of the Magical World of Disney on YouTube, like the Mickey's 60th Birthday program, which is very much in the vein of "Totally Minnie."
I definitely remember this program! Loved it, and I am always saying on this forum that they should release an 80's themed Disney Treasures set for this, the 60th Birthday program, Muppets At Walt Disney World (though that may have been '90s), Soccermania (also may have been from the '90s), Fluppy Dogs, and the Disneyland Birthday Special with Ernest, Woody from Cheers, etc... Totally Minnie co-starred Robert Carradine(sp?), AKA Lizzie McGuire's dad, as a nerd (what else) that needed a makeover and dating tips from a very 80's style Minnie. The object of his affection and dating attempts was Three's Company's (and Step By Step's) Suzanne Sommers (sp?). It was corny, but most of that 80's Magical World of Disney stuff was. It was great fun!

I remember that song, I've heard the original on the radio with Kiki Dee singing but I've heard Minnie singing with Elton John. The original with Kiki's duet was a big hit back in 1976 on Musicradio WABC, but not with Minnie Mouse.Big Disney Fan wrote:I think I seem to recall this show, sort of. At one point, I think Minnie sings "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" with Sir Elton John.
The original track with Elton John singing minus the Kiki Dee vocal tracks.
I've never had that, but I remember all the merchandises stuff that I've seen since I was a youngster. But I do remember the TV special. As I said, I used to watch it on the "Magical World of Disney" since I was 10 years old when I saw it on my really old 13' Black & White TV.The Little Merboy wrote:Oh my gosh! I totally remember this, my cousin had some of the coloring books, and other stuff with the Totally Minnie logo. Laughing talk about a flash back Smile
These brings back so many memories of watching "The Magical World of Disney".

I never taped that special when it was aired, but I saw it on "The Magical World of Disney" when it was on WNBC-TV (Channel 4) in New York City back on May 9th, 1989 since I was 10 years old when I first saw it on my old Black & White TV while I was recording it on my radio with a cassette recorder and a built-in microphone on it to do my home recording. Wow! Those are the ones that I do remember.totallyminnie86 wrote:This was one of my favorite specials growing up. I still have the old vhs tape I recorded it onto from when it originally aired
