I don't know about you but I loved the 3 TV Movie Sequels of the Parent Trap that Disney made in the 80's. I would love it if Disney would put all 3 of them out on Disney DVD. I have been waiting for them to come out for ages.
If anyone has an update about this please respond. I Miss The Parent Trap Sequels
Well, DVD Exclusive has been mentioning a Parent Trap II DTV Live action for a while:
The Parent Trap II
Buena Vista (Fountain Prods.)
Writers: Derek Guiley, David Schneiderman
Family: A sequel to the 1998 theatrical remake.
Status: in development; Release: TBA
This is on their in production page for Direct to Video films - not the DVD Special Edtion page.
So have they made a mistake and it will be a copy of the TV movie, or will it be an all new Parent Trap? The write up and writers suggest an all new film.
Disney Channel actually shows these movies (at least Parent Trap II) every once in a while, which is more than can be said for most of their '80s TV movies. I liked that, although it certainly doesn't compare with the original.
The 1998 remake was good, but it doesn't seem conducive to a sequel itself, unless they could sway Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson back, which I doubt.
Hey I didn't mean the sequel to the one that was made in 1998 with Lindsay Lohan. I mean the 3 sequels that were from the 80's that were aired on Wonderful World Of Disney. Jee the parent trap from 1998 wasn't worth diddly squat!
hawaiian honeymoon all the way. we have all of them taped off tv from their original airing, and while the second one used to be my favorite as a kid (when referring to the sequels), the hawaiian honeymoon seems to be the favorite now. that's the one where they inherit a run down hawaiian hotel and two of the triplets switch places when they take each other's guy out on a date. everytime i watch that beginning when the mail man comes to the door and all three triplets come up seperately and then hayley mills comes up seperately twice, i crack up. i really, really, REALLY want these on dvd. i know that parent trap II was released on VHS in europe, but maybe we'll be seeing a dvd release soon. has anyone heard of a release of these........Inga?.......
a sequel to the remake wouldn't be without warrant, but i doubt it would be more than a direct to video calibur (like the george of the jungle II). i wouldn't mind it at all. the storyline of twins switching places never gets old for me. i think i'm gonna go watch these now....i'm really in the mood for mischief.
