I think that "One Hour in Wonderland" was put on the ME of Alice because there was no long making of feature made. If there is a brand new hour long making of Peter Pan on the PE, I don't think there will be room for another hour long feature and all of the other bonuses unless they compress it. I would love to see the Christmas special seeing as OHIW was my favorite part of the Alice DVD, but I don't think it's likely now that R2 is claiming it has a brand new making of. Only time will tell, so don't take anything I say as a sure thing, but judging from the past, these types of features are typically only used as filler when they don't have anything new to add. We may have to wait until Peter Pan is released on a 5GB Blue Ray 2-disc set in around 7 years (provided Blue Ray is the dominant format by then).

I guess that's understandable.

Don't forget there's the live action verison of the film that Walt Disney had the animators study for more life like movements, so I think that would be a real treasure for every Peter Pan fan.

'Kay, so I haven't been here in a few <strike>days</strike> <strike>weeks</strike> months, and I'm trying to grasp all of this information that just hit me all at once. If I miss anything, bare with me (wait, or is it "bear with me"?). So far, including the German extras, which are likely to appear, we have...

- Remastered Picture and Sound
- Audio Commentary by John Canemaker (shweet!)
- Interactive Adventure Book
- Disney Song Selection (AKA put subtitles on and watch the movie)
- Virtual Flight with Peter Pan
- Lost Song: "Neverland"
- Music Video: "Second Star to the Right"
- Unreleased Song: "The Pirate Song"
- The Story of Peter Pan
- "Belief, Trust, and Pixie Dust: The Making of Peter Pan" (which is an awesome title, by the way)
- "You Can Fly: The Making of Peter Pan" (I'm guessing only one of these making of's will appear)
- "The Magic of a Fairy"
- With Walt's Words: "Why I Made Peter Pan"
- "The Peter Pan that Almost Was..."
- Sneak Peak: The Tinkerbell Movie

We're also pretty certain that the Christmas Special will make an appearance. That about it, so far? If I missing anything, tell me.

Even so, great job Disney! They seem to be focusing much more on substance than fluff this time. I'm really looking forward to sinking my teeth into this Platinum, which, even with the short "You Can Fly" documentary, is shaping up to be better than Cinderella or The Lion King. Bravo.

By the way, DisneyKid, awesome avatar.

The Return of Pasta67!

Post by Disney Duster »

Pasta67 wrote:'Kay, so I haven't been here in a few <strike>days</strike> <strike>weeks</strike> months
"The new direct-to-video sequel The Return of Pasta67, see it on a forum today!" And now I have, and it's far better than any sequel...though I do like the Aladdin sequels...

I missed you, man! Where have you been! I didn't see any welcoming party, and I thought someone needed to acknowledge your return. And a question that's been floating around in my brain: Where'd you find out about "Dat's a spicy meat 'a ball!"? Do you know where it originally came from? And yes, I know this is off-topic...

Seriously, I missed you, I thought you weren't coming on anymore because your favorite, Aladdin, was already out, and not many others you liked were being released.

Thanks! :D Let me take that German list a step further, and with a few more edits (for example, the virtual flight is called Peter Pan's flight, and since the film uses the phrase "Faith, trust, and pixie dust," I'm assuming that's the name of the documentary rather than "belief, trust, and pixie dust." Here's how we'll probably see it all arranged:

Disc one:

- Audio Commentary by John Canemaker
- Disney Song Selection
- Sneak Peak: The Tinkerbell Movie

Disc two:

* Backstage Disney
- "Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust: The Making of Peter Pan" Documentary (Who knows if we'll actually be getting this one)
- "You Can Fly: The Making of Peter Pan" Featurette
- "In Walt's Words: 'Why I Made Peter Pan'" Featurette
- "The Peter Pan That Almost Was" Featurette
- "The Magic of a Fairy" Featurette
- "The Peter Pan Story" Promotional Featurette
- Art Gallery (assuming, no confirmation, yet)
- Theatrical Trailer (assuming, no confirmation, yet)

* Music and More
- "Never Land" Lost Song Performed by Paige O'Hara
- "The Pirate Song" Unreleased Song
- "The Second Star to the Right" Music Video Performed by ???

* Games and Activities
- "Peter's Playful Prank" Storybook
- "Peter Pan's Flight" Magical Environment
- "Camp Never Land" Set Top Games

As long as they add the Walt Disney Christmas Show to this roster (and make the gallery pretty substantial with at least 200 images), then I'll be happy. This is sounding better than The Lion King, Bambi, and Lady and the Tramp's DVDs and seems to be about on-par with Cinderella and The Little Mermaid's. I just hope Disney issues a full press release and doesn't make us scrounge up leaked specs from other sources like we had to do with Little Mermaid.

Well, I'm afraid you are gonna have to keep scrounging, because Disney has a tendency to keep us in the dark on all the contents of their DVDs. Believe me, I'm getting really antsy, too! I'm particularly looking forward to Peter Pan's Virtual Flight, which I'm still hoping is a virtual ride-thru of the Peter Pan ride (preferrably DL's (and consequently DLP's) version). And I hope we have some trailers, including a few more than just the original release one.

I'm not exactly sure where the phrase originated. I would guess an Italian person said it at one point, but that's just me stereotyping. I've just heard it in a few television shows and thought it sounded funny. It's not the most epic story, but that's where I heard it.

As for leaving UD once Aladdin was released, no way. I enjoy talking here too much to just leave. It's mostly just because of school that I'm hardly on the internet nowadays. Thanks a bunch for the words of re-welcome, though. That was kind. :)

On-Topic: So, have both audio commentaries been included, or will the new Canemaker one be all by its' lonesome? I hope not, because I really want to hear the one from the special edition DVD as well. Also, I really hope the "Magic of a Fairy" featurette is about Tinkerbell's role as one of Disney's main mascots today, but I guess as long as it's worthwhile, I'll be happy with it.

The Platinum Hosts

Post by Mason_Ireton »

I miss the idea of having an Disney Legend host the Platinum series each year, (I.E: Roy E. Disney was Snow White's host) Think bout it....if Disney had some of the people from Old Disney (Ollie Johnson, Kathryn Beaumont) then they should have full rights to guide us on the films They've worked on, not the new Disney crew. It's be an honor for Kathyrn Beaumont to host Peter Pan Platinum Edition, since she's one of the few surviors from the film.

A little off topic, but am I the only one here that keeps watching the Peter Pan: Platinum Edition trailer again and again on various DVDs and getting more and more excited about the upcoming release with every viewing?

No, that's nowhere near off-topic. On the contrary, it's right on! This thread is all about the Peter Pan PE DVD.

Wow! I just realized something today after I watched my Robin Hood DVD... it's going to be a really long time until we see Peter Pan released to DVD. Disney has been spoiling us (or maybe just me) lately with their many releases. Lately I have purchased The Little Mermaid, The Fox and the Hound, Cars and Robin Hood all within a relative short period of time. But I just realized that the next Disney animated feature coming to DVD is Peter Pan and we still have to wait 15 weeks for that! Oh boy, this next 15 weeks is going to seem like an eternity! :(

Well, Simba3, you know what they say: Good things come to those who wait. Patience is a virtue. But yeah, I'm just as antsy about it as you are! I can't wait, either. I feel like this every time a new PE DVD is announced. I remember when it took forever for my TLM PE to get here. At long last, it did! We order these DVDs over the Internet just so we can get some added pizzaz: cels, beanie dolls and pins.

Looks good there. You have both Peter Pan and Return To Never Land. Maybe someone could do a double-feature DVD set of those two movies. I think they actually did that in France.

I did that with The Little Mermaid. Atleast you didnt have to wait a year since the trailer first appeared!! I kept that Cinderella DVD close to hand for a year straight to keep re-watching TLM PE trailer.

A mere 7 minutes? Then again, that's better than nothing, and it's likely just a dramatic reading of his article.

Horray for Walt Disney's XMas Show, I'm defintly gon'na buy the platinum not cause of Walt's Xmas Show but Peter's Platinum looks like it's filled to the brim of bonus features. Tink's Featurette sounds interesting. Hope they'll post screencaps round New Years.
