High School Musical reviews and DVD talk

Post by disneyfanforever »

Ok I don't know if this topic has been created yet nor do I know if this topic fits in this part of the forums as well  , but I'm quite excited to talk about it...Has anyone watched High School musical yet?...I really loved the whole movie, mainly because of the music inside, and plus the outstanding awards it has got from the billboards, and has also been classified as the best disney musical on The Disney channel.

Anyway, share your thoughts about the movie and the times you remember watching it, tell me also about your favourite scenes inside and all that

And also one other reason I have created this discussion is because, I've watched the movie last week..for the first time, lol...and yeah I loved it...I heard about the first DVD edition that this movie came out in..and judged from the reviews of the DVD here in UD, it hasn't approved immensely saying all the features that were sposed to be there wasn't...however I may concur...anyhow...

Then I heard about a new release came out again re-packaged I think called "the karaoke edition"..if I'm not mistaken..and I was planning to maybe get the DVD and the CD on the weekends. So what do you all think, should I get that DVD? I want special opinions from people who already owns the whole thing.

anyone who already owns the special edition DVD, can you describe the DVD for me? Any advice as to whether I shall get it or not?....thanks :)
You shall run young buck and rest, no you can't stop, the adventure hasn't finished yet.

I LOVE "High School Musical"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I watched it when it first aired, and I bought the soundtrack, and the (first edition) DVD, and watched the 'Pop-Up' edition last night on TV! I love it!

I LOVE "Newsies", which Kenny Ortega directed/choreographed, so it's a no-brainer that I would love HSM. It's a very fast-paced movie, in the sense that there are no boring parts and it moves along very quickly.

The music is great. It's so fun to sing along to- the soundtrack is one of my favorite CDs to listen to when I'm driving. "What I've Been Looking For" (the Sharpay & Ryan version) is my favorite song in the whole movie. It's so fun!

The plot line is kind of like "Grease"'s plot- girl meets boy over vacation, girl goes to the boy's school, cliques, etc. But it's different in every other way (except for the songs).

I think that the film is something that all ages can enjoy- I'm 21, so obviously I'm not that old, but I love it...

The DVD that I have has some bonus features- you learn some dance moves, it has a music video of a song that's on the soundtrack but not in the film (but it is in the stage version, at least the one that schools put on)...I'm sure the 2-disc will be much better, including stuff from the premieres and documentaries and such, but I'll probably stick with the version I have- even though I love bonus features, I care more about them for the animated features (and "Newsies")!

And, my favorite character is Sharpay. It seems like such a fun role to play (and I like Ashley Tisdale, too).

Did you know that they had HSM as part of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade? I wonder if it will become a full-blown Broadway musical. That show just screams "Broadway".

I watched them on the parade, but it was weird how Zac and Vanessa weren't there....
And, the cast members are in a traveling production of HSM, although not on Broadway. I think that HSM and "Newsies" would be great on Broadway.
