Ok, I have some things to say first. Siren, I took the liberty to form your heroine's face according to what I think it looks like, because her actual facial characteristics were not very obvious from the pictures you gave me. If you think I have to change it, tell me and I'll do it. About the cat; Her tail is much longer, due to her gargoyle nature and in order to hide "something" from Siren's body, although "it" should be obvious anyway, even behind the tail. You'll see what I mean. The cat also has, I think, a grey spot on the top of her head that I didn't do because I could see it only from the one side and I wasn't sure about its actual shape. All in all, it was a very interesting experiment for me.Wether it is succesfull or not, you'll tell me.
P.S. Siren is nude. Not actually NUDE, but certainly nude. Not offensively though.I hope.

OH. MY. GOD. WOW. I mean, just WOW. I love it. I love Satin and how you stragedically (sp?...its 4AM, don't be picky on grammar) put her tail!
Siren's face is wonderful! I love the background and the fact they are in the air. Siren's body looks better then ever. Satin's brow ridges are fantastic! And her size is great, so are her ears. LOL...I could go on forever...but I was just about to leave for X-mas shopping
THANK YOU ALADDIN FROM AGRABAH!
And my offer still stands to do the exchange for a music video of your pick.

Thank you, Jasmine 1022. Now the next one in line is Ariel, Eric and Melody as Merpeople for Thomas J.
Danfrandes, I haven't even started it yet so please stop asking me every two days if your request is ready. I'm not a mashine, I'm a human with A LOT MORE things to do. I'm really sorry that you have to wait more but if you have lost your patience and want me to cancel your request just let me know and everything will be ok. From the very first time that I started taking requests I made it quite clear that I would keep a chronological order. Oh, and about Jasmine's outfit, I was actually thinking about making it pink!

Al from Ag's Siren's Request
It's great that you do characters from films you've watched over and over again in poses reminiscent of their famous scenes, but when you do an original drawing of characters that you only based off of a few pictures...in such a breathtaking scene...that's amazing.
I really mean it. You are amazing Alladin from Agrabah. I know I've said "amazing" before...maybe astonishing or virtuoso would be better.
Superb, beautiful, statuesque work on Siren's request. Beyond successful. Sublime.

Lol. Are you saying that because you really mean it, or because you're afraid Siren will skin you alive if you don't?
Just joking.
EDIT: Oops!
That picture has a sense of visciousness and subtle elegance all in one; what an artistic achievement!

Well, I was really thinking about you making Jasmine's belly dancing outfit light green and and I was really thinking about you making Jasmine swinging her hips from side to side. Where would Jasmine be when she's belly dancing?Aladdin from Agrabah wrote:Oh, and about Jasmine's outfit, I was actually thinking about making it pink!

wow. you are sounding really, really greedy right now. im sorry, i dont want to sound like a bitch, but you are. you should appreciate that he is doing this for you. you should not be picky. if he is going to make a pink dress, he is going to make a pink dress. if i were him, honestly, i would tell you that im not going to make your drawing now because you sound like such a complete jerk! but al's a LOT nicer than me when im POed (and im not POed because of you)... I just think you need to be a little more appreciative that he is going to do all this hard work just for you.danfrandes wrote:Well, I was really thinking about you making Jasmine's belly dancing outfit light green and and I was really thinking about you making Jasmine swinging her hips from side to side. and can you stop with all the random details? what's next? Hey, Al from Ag, can Jasmine have pink fingernails? ugh...
and! she probably wont be in a magnificent location because the drawing itself will be hard enough. making the background equally pretty would probably drive him to the brink of insanity, and maybe even push him off!
im sorry. i really shouldn't be taking out my anger here but i needed to vent. and even if i wasnt POed this post would not have been much different.

First of all, a big thank you to Jasmine 1022 for supporting and understanding me so much. I hope it's just enthusiasm that leads danfrandes to keep asking and asking. Anyway, if he wants it green, it'll be green.
Secondly a big thank you to Lord of Sith for his kind words, to Disney Duster for overwhelming me again and to Julian Carter for his beautiful comments- I really like this cat! Not to mention that she would make a perfect pet for me because I'm allergic to cat's fur.
All in all, I'm glad you liked that picture. Boy, I was so anxious about how it would turn out!

Yeah, let's not be too picky. If you were paying him money for your request, you would have every right to nitpick each and every line and color. It is RARE to find an artist who is willing to do it all for free...Even much rare to find such a GREAT artist who does it for free. That's why when I requested Siren, I put the biggest specifics, such as how Siren and Satin look. But then I gave Aladdin from Agrabah the freedom to be well...an artist. To let his imagination go where he wanted it to. I knew if I wasn't strict on it and gave him that freedom, it would come out that much better. If an artist is asked to do something they don't want, their art suffers, so I like to give artists the freedom to express themselves in their art, not just my vision, but their's as well. For the simple fact, that I respect the artist for taking out their time to do something that they really don't HAVE to do.
That said, I just kept seeing the pic in my mind at work and it made me smile. I had such a bad day, it was nice to come home and look at it again. It is truely beautiful. Thank you again Aladdin from Agrabah. You are truely gifted.

i will say this to you again--- She won't be on an exquisite background because that would make it extra hard for himdanfrandes wrote:Where could Jasmine be when she's belly dancing?
she'll probably be her room or something. she's not going to be by the fountain or in the market place. that's too much work for the poor guy, especially when you're so unappreciative about it!
Al from Ag, I personally think you should just not do his request. I can just imagine that after it's done he will say oh i pictured it differently. can you do it again?
by adding all these excessive, random details you are just going to squash his talent. he needs the freedom to make the picture beautiful. please stop adding all these details and please be patient and wait until he is done.
he, like the rest of us, has a life outside UD. he doesnt spend his days sitting here posting or doing everyone's art work. he's a human, not a machine. it could be a month before your picture is done (but he's usually pretty fast about it), so just sit back and enjoy your curiousity. you adding details is like opening your gifts before christmas. its nice to get it, but you already know what you're getting.
Frankly, my heart can continue to beat if I never see Jasmine belly dancing. So if the request isn't done, I can still live on.
And if he does it, I say make the background blank
The poor guy is only human. With a life of his own. I doubt he sits in his basement, a beard to the ground, eating biscuits and drinking water, doing nothing but our art requests.
There is something called patience. No, it has nothing to do with the doctor. It means waiting politely for the request.
In other news, I added my new pic to MySpace.
