Grey's Anatomy: The Complete Second Season - Uncut 6 Discs R1 NTSC
Ugh, finally. I pricematched at Best Buy from Circuit City, and I must have stood in the store for 20 minutes just picking a set out of Grey's, Housewives or Lost. Either way-- wonderful price, wonderful show, happy me.

Don't think of it as caving in. Think of it as a temporary solution until May/June 2007.

Picked up/received the following today:

The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. $39.99 at GameStop (love the store, hate the employees and their rip-offs when you sell used stuff there)
Mrs. Doubtfire: Widescreen Edition $15.55 from Amazon (unfortunately, it came with the oh-so-unnecessary-yet-slightly-better-than-the-plain-cover-art slipcover)
It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World: Special Edition $17.99 (oddly, Amazon had a small batch in stock, so I immediately ordered it. Will resurrect my old IAMMMMW Thread later to discuss the extended scenes they present there versus the scenes spliced into the 1980s extended cut that's show on TCM)

I just got back from Best Buy!

I picked up:

Ice Ige 2: The Meltdown

Image

It was $15.99, but, I used the Circuit City price match of $12.99! I didn't see it in theaters, but, I enjoyed the first one, so I'm hoping I'll enjoy this one just as much.

I also decided to go ahead and pick up this, which I've been waiting for a LONG time!

Star Trek: The Complete Animated Series (4-Disc Set)

Image

It was $45.99, but, I used the Circuit City price match of $39.99!

Plus, I got Double Points on my Reward Zone card!

Is it ever a hassle to get them to actually do the price match? I've contemplated on whether or not I should do it at my local Best Buy (Circuit City is like 30 minutes away from my house, so I don't want to go all the way down there), but I always worry that I'll be holding up the line for an hour.

Price matched Grey's Anatomy from Circuit City at Best Buy. The cashier pressed a button, looked at the flyer, typed in the new price and I was gone.

No hassle whatsoever! I always price match, when I can, and it's very quick, and painless. Just make sure that you have your circular, so they can key in what store and price they are matching to.

Price matched with Circuit City and went to Best Buy and picked up Ice Age The Meltdown and then I also picked up Star Trek The Complete Animated Series. This was fun, because not having been at work for almost two months, I used my acrued Gift Certificates and it only cost me the taxes. And I still have some Gift Certificates left. Woo-Hoo!!!!!

Call me Mr. Lucky because a box of review discs turned up yesterday.

Stuff arriving included:

Candy: Aussie film with Heath Ledger and Abbie Cornish (sounds like a snack, doesn't it?), both playing junkies. Excellent film, better than the novel in many respects.

Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2-Disc): Quite simply my favourite film of the last year. Quite possibly in my all-time Top Lists. Beautiful, moving, thought-provoking and at times, surreal. A modern western with a twist. The Region 4 DVD is jam-packed with a commentary, featurettes, Cannes footage, deleted scenes, trailers, and more.

My Brilliant Career (Directors Suite): Another Aussie film. This one is based on a classic Australian novel about a woman's fight for independence in period Australia. Notable for being directed by Gillian Armstrong and starring Sam Neill and Judy Davis.

Double Indemnity (Directors Suite): Believe it or not, I've never seen this, and I look forward to visiting Bill Wilder's noir classic for the first time.

Rashomon: One I have seen many times, as I am a huge Kurosawa fan. First time this has been available in Region 4, and I look forward to revisiting.

Best of She-Ra Princess of Power: I saw this in the box and simultaneously went "Yay" and "Oh dear". Could go either way, but I enjoyed it 20 years ago!

MASK Collection 1: Remember this? It was a favourite cartoon as a lad, and I even remember buying the little robot dude. Another that could go either way 20 years on...

Pulse: More Japanese horror! All I seem to be doing at the moment is watching Japanese and Korean horror. I believe this is being remade...

Ulysses 31 - Complete Collection: Another retro cartoon series I know nothing about, but it seems to have some kind of cult following.

I also got sent some obligatory anime:
  • Negima V1
  • Demon City: Shinjuku
  • Basilisk: V1

Sorry about that, my bad...........yes it was the Blu-Ray DVD and it looks spectacular. Looks like you can reach right in and touch all of the characters. Sorry I was lax in specifying which version I got.
