Discounted Disneyland tickets?

Post by daflobber »

Hey gang. I'm heading to San Diego for a week and a half in January. My wife has business during the day and my baby girl and I have a week to go play in Southern California. I've never been to Disneyland (or Disney World) and think I might head there for a day. Does anyone know where I can buy discounted tickets to get in the park? We're not going to stay at the Disneyland hotels so I don't think we'll be getting any package deals from there.

Here in Denver you can go to the grocery store and get discounted tickets for skiing or Six Flags. It saves you almost half of what the prices are at the actual resorts. Are there places in California that do that as well? Sometimes you can bring in a can of food or a Pepsi can for $5 off the admission price as well. Anything like that at Disneyland? Thanks for the help. I can't wait to get my girl her first Mickey Mouse ears! :D

Hey, I live in SD! Hope you have a good time 'round here.

The only time I've gotten discounted Disneyland tix was from someone who had connections with people that worked in the park. Otherwise, I've never seen Disney tix sold in a super market or anything like that (they have them for Knotts and Universal Studios though). I know that in the past, in January/February, So Cal. residents get cheaper tickets but I don't think they've done that recently.

Hi Dafflobber,

You can generally find discounted tickets through Ebay. Just make sure to do some thorough research before bidding cause you wouldnt want to be stuck standing outside the gates with your little daughter, but if done efficiently you could end up saving a significant ammount of money. I'd suggest you get on that right away if you expect to travel mid-Jan though. You'd have to make sure the sller uses an express delivery courrier. That's my only advice...

Good luck and have a great trip with your family!

Thanks Stash, There are quite a few tickets up on ebay. Looks like the tix expire quickly so I may have to wait till it's closser to the day I'm going. Thanks for the tip!

Right now, there aren't any supermarket specials going on. I believe they give you a AAA insurance discount at Sea World, but I can't remember.

If you are going to both the Zoo and the Wild Animal Park, there's a pass you can pick up that will work for both, and will cost you less than buying an entrance ticket per park. Also, keep an eye out in the hotel you'll be staying in for those little advertisement booklets they usually have in the lobby - there may be some ticket coupons in one of those.
