Timeless Tales - Any More Volumes?

Post by JamesDFarrow »

I have the first three and was wondering if any more are planned.

I read somewhere (can't recall where) there was a 4th volume due soon but have not seen anything since.

Any info?

Thanks,

James :)

Well, I have no idea what's going to be on this one, but I certainly hope one of the cartoons is "Donald In Mathmagicland".

Dude.

I just had a huge flashback to some really old VHSs that my mother had. It was a series also called Timeless Tales, but it certainly wasn't by Disney. It was a series of animated features of traditional tales like Puss In Boots and The Emperor's New Clothes. Awesome.

I've never actually heard of a Disney series by the same title. Can someone enlighten me?

"Timeless Tales" are compilation DVDs made up of various storybook based Disney shorts and featurettes (such as The Prince and the Pauper, Three Little Pigs, The Wind in the Willows) that were released in Region 1 (aka USA and Canada). As you're from the UK (like me :D ), have you see the cheap "Fables" DVDs that Disney has brought out here? They're basically the British equivalents of this series, an example of which can be found here (with a review written by me, wheeee!).

As for Donald in Mathmagic Land appearing on one of these sets, I guess it could happen, as it did feature on the previously mentioned UK Fables discs, but it would seem a bit odd, as I can't really see the storybook connection in it. Maybe it would be better on a character orientated DVD like the Cartoon Classic Favourites.

There's at least a Volume 4 in theory, though I would have thought it'd show up for release next January. We'll probably see it sometime next year. While the contents of the Timeless Tales discs are largely redundant, the low-priced cartoon compilation is clearly working for Disney, which is why we've seen so many of them and will see more as long as there are more to be made. Anyway, the shorts that are deemed worthy for this series do tend to be a cut above the normal Disney short in quality (or at least length), so that makes them interesting, especially as some are otherwise on DVDs I don't own. (Imagine that!)

Thanks!

We will keep our eyes open and hopefully they come out with more.

I like these small collection DVDs. Sometimes you just want to watch a few and it's a pain messing with multiple menus on the other ones.

I bet Mathmagicland will probably be released through the Treasures on The Chronological Donald, Volume Four.

Are there anymore Timeless Tales volumes?

Do you think there are anymore Timeless Tales volumes?

How many shorts will "Timeless Tales: Volume 4" include? Can it be 6 or 5 or 7?

Don't you think the short "Lambert the Sheepish Lion" will be included in "Timeless Tales: Volume 4"?

Check out www.play.com (a UK DVD supplier) and search for Disney Fables. I believe Timeless Tales was the renamed equivalent for Region 1. It will give you some idea of what's still to come.

They are so in the Timeless Tales! Just not in the United States.

I don't know about that, but I do know that Donald In Mathmagicland is in fact scheduled for The Chronological Donald, Volume Four when that set is released as part of the Wave Eight of Treasures.
