International Exclusives

Post by yamiiguy »

I thought to make a thread about DVD's that are International Exclusives. Sorry if there is already a thread, I searched International Exclusives in the forum International DVD.

These are the ones I know:

Image
Lilo and Stitch 2-Disc Special Edition
Was Scheduled for a US release date but so far hasn't seen the light of day.

Image
Peter Pan 2-Disc Collectors Edition
A French exclusive that will forever remain a French exclusive with the upcoming Platinum Edition/Special Edition.

Image
Early Classics Collection
A Japanese exclusive that contains Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi, Melody Time, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and Lady & the Tramp.

Obviously out of date, but still useful, I'd think.

That L&S cover is really, really nice!! It's kind of sweet and yet laid back. It's cool. :stitch:

I know the only complaint I have is why was David chosen over Nami, Jumba or Pleakley?

Actually you shouldn't be all cheery about the L&S-cover. I of course can't speak for other countries but we got that version in Denmark and the covertart is actually blurry! The top looks fine but the buttom part with the hammock has obviously been smaller in its original picture. And it's noticable.

the miserable, the lonely and depressed. Pathetic?

Peter Pan 2-Disc Collectors Edition
A French exclusive that will forever remain a French exclusive with the upcoming Platinum Edition/Special Edition.
It's not exclusive to France. Japan also has one, the only NTSC version,
so you don't have to put up with the annoying 4% speed-up on the France DVD.
I like the artwork better as well.

Japanese Nightmare Before Christmas Coffin

Post by HappyPug »

...not to forget,
this trendy Japanese Nightmare Before Christmas Coffin Gift-Set
that was released over there last week.

It's kawaii!...( super cute )

Image

Above, Jack is tuckered out so having a rest in his coffin...

Image

Above, we open it up to see Jack reclining comfortably, even with a copy of his own DVD, complete with its on cover & disc inside.
Super cute, said the wife.

Image

Above, Jack comes with a nifty Postcard, a little cardboard Autenticity Number and of course his little DVD for him to watch when we're asleep.

Image

And finally, Jack visiting relatives in my daughters bedroom.
In the Nightmare Before Christmas section as it were.

Its cute hey?

Everyone should get one.
It's only 8,100 Yen,
So about $88AUD or only $70USD!
Bargain!

A great little collectors item, so don't forget to buy two.

Sorry Nick, it looks like you guys are getting the same cover
as the states...

But its still nice I guess.

Don't feel bad though as Japan always upstages every other country in terms of nice looking DVDs.
