Okay, for the benefit of everyone, I dug up last year's Secret Santa sign-up thread).
By looking at the structure from last year, I'm assuming the deadline for signing-up will be November 10 (second Friday of November), and members get their random assignments the following Monday, November 13, with the deadline for sending out gifts being December 8 (second Friday of December).
Minors need their parent's/legal guardian's permission to participate.
And here's the full paragraph on requirements to join:
As usual, this Secret Santa is open to regular forum members. Are you one of those? If you're reading this, there's a good chance you are. It will be up to the discretion of myself and other moderators to determine if you can participate in this. While that may sound a bit fascist, it's really not. The only reason anyone might be denied entry is to ensure that everyone has a good time. Anyone who has posted with some regularity and has joined the forum earlier than say, this September, should be fine to partake. If you've only joined in the past couple of months, or have only posted a handful of times, then you probably want to get to know the forum and its members better before doing something like this anyway. The first year of doing this, we had one deadbeat who thought it would be like totally cool to get a present at a PO Box and like totally not send anything out himself, coming up with lots of excuses. He go bye-bye! We had no problems whatsoever last year and I don't expect any this year. If your idea of holiday fun is cheating someone out of a present and not giving something to the person you're assigned, you can be sure that you will no longer be a part of this forum. In the unlikely event that you get stiffed, let me know, and I'll make sure you don't come away empty-handed.
I'm assuming some of these requirements will change this year, what with having 3 deadbeats and one disappearance that has never been explained.

This thread reminded me of a Secret Santa we had many years ago. In about September the girls in the office asked the boss if they could do a Secret Santa again like the previous year. He said there was no point as within a couple of days everyone in the office knew who everyone else had so what was the point of a secret santa. They promised that they would not tell anyone like last time. He said he would think about it. About a month later they asked him again. He said O.K. So he arranged it. You know what happened next. Within an hour everyone was asking why they all had the same name. The boss had put him name on all the pieces of paper. He said, you see I proved a point. You all tell each other who you have so what is the point of a secret santa. We did not have a secret santa that year. LOL!

No, it hasn't started yet. I was just speculating based on last year...Secret Disney Man...bwahaha, old name! wrote:
Wait a minute... Escapay, has sign-up started yet? If so, where can I do just that?

Luke started the sign-up thread on Wednesday November 2 last year, so I'm guessing we'll see it pop up less than two weeks from now, likely Wednesday November 1.
Ah, okay. With the story, the previous post makes sense now.JamesDFarrow wrote:I was just making a joke.
Didn't get so fun by the end of December when Paka and disneyfella still were waiting for their Secret Santas to come through, before Luke finally sent them gifts in January. Hopefully those mistakes won't happen this year.NarniaDis wrote:I watched as it progressed and it looked Like fun

Why else would Santa Clause 3 be opening three days after Halloween, right?MickeyMousePal wrote:Secret Santa 2006 this is great news but better not be late as in mid November.
