Disney Duster's Favorite Disney Princess

Post by Disney Duster »

Oh yay, oh yay, my favorite is Cinderella and so far almost everyone has said Cinderella too!

Since this is Polls and Games we don't have to elaborate, but I might as well say I like her personality and her looks. Her hair is an orangey kind of blonde, which is rather cool. Her eyes are also a very bright blue. She tries to be up-beat, but actually she does a lot of "Oh well, that sucks", like when she can't go to the ball and when midnight comes. She doesn't even seem to want to be with the man she met again. But when she realizes he's the Prince she's like, "Holy sh*t I can use him to get out of here!" and then she uses the slipper to get away from her mean family. I identify with her, because my family gets on my nerves and I want to go some place I like better, too. Yes, the super mice-saving, sweet, sometimes sardonic, singing Cinderella is my favorite Disney Princess.

Jazzy Jasmine

Post by Jasmine1022 »

my favorite princess is jasmine. she has unconventional beauty, and also an amazing singing voice. i love her independance and how true she is to herself. she makes me want to like her, and i do. she's not like the other princesses in that she seems to have more substance and she isn't always bright and cheerful, so it makes me happier when she's happy, because it's not a constant thing.

and, raja is one sexy, sexy cat :P :D

I, personally, enjoy hearing people's reasons for liking what they do.

The only *literal* princesses that I like are Cinderella and Ariel. Cinderella because, despite having a horrible family, she's always stayed with them instead of running off on her on. My take on that was that she most likely thought there was some reason her father brought them to her.

Ariel's always appealed to me with the way she takes control. Admittedly, the deal with the witch was slightly stupid, but at least she tried. Besides, that was her only way to be human (her father didn't seem very willing to help her beforehand). I also like the fact that she wants to do more than just own a bunch of thingamabobs.

The rest of the princesses kind of get on my nerves. In fact, I used to despise Cinderella too, until I re-watched the movie on its Platinum release.

Fvaorite Disney Princess: Cinderella: Debate

I never thought of that. You know, when I wrote about Cinderella seeing the Prince as a means of escape, I was trying to defend her. Most people's complaints of her are that she's looking for some man to rescue her (which, I suppose is somewhat true), but she uses him to her advantage, and she went to the ball and made him fall in love with her in the first place. Apparently the original story was actually about women having power over men and using them to their advantage. All the females are powerful, the stepmother, the fairy godmother, and Cinderella herself. Even the stepmother had advantage over a man (in some stories, Cinderella's father is still alive and very submissive). Yes, I am a boy who's saying all this, I don't mind loving a story that has powerful women. The point is, the Prince falls under Cinderella's spell, not the other way around. A lot of people also say she's hopelessly romantic and looking for love, which is obviously untrue in Disney's version, as she doesn't say anything about a man until after the ball.

I also wanted to defend her in people's complaint that she stupidly never ran away and tried to find some work. Well, her stepmother took over her house, her family's house. She'd be abandoning everything, and Disney's Divinity, you pointed out something I never realized. Cinderella's father mut've seen something good in Lady Tremaine, even though the stepmother was pretending and apparently hiding her "true nature". Also, finding work would be somewhat beneath Cinderella, as I thought she had a rich family fortune, it was just taken away from her and sqaundered away.

Did you forget what Cinderella was really like and just hated her merchandized "Disney Princess" form, or you knew how she was all along and you just changed your view on her after re-watching it? Some people remember something worse than it is, and when they see it again are reminded how they really are, and like it. My one friend thought she hated Aladdin from her childhood memories, but when she watched it again, LOVED it!

That's how it was with me as well. I always have to deal with all these highschool teenagers who consider themselves just like Cinderella on Prom Night. And I put that image of a spoiled girl overtop of the movie itself, when there's really nothing similar about them. It was the same with TLK. I kept coming across people who absolutely love that movie and think all the other Disney movies are crap, which caused me to think of that movie when I'm talking to them.

Wait, what do you mean? It sounds like you said that when you talk to people who "absoluetely love" TLK, you think of TLK...which makes sense, but I don't think that's what you meant because obviously everyone thinks of what they're talking to people about! I'm just trying to get exactly what you mean.

Also, I LOOOOVE your avatar and signature! In fact, I've loved just about all of your avatars and siggies, but this one takes the cake! The villain's in front of their movie locations in an evil purple/pink is so cool and pleasing to the eye. It's not just the idea or concept, but the way you execute it. You have an eye for composition and where exactly the gradiants should be.

I meant that, since I dislike those type of people, I thought of TLK the same way as I did them.

Thanks. These are actually banner/avatar sets that I made a while ago because my mouse's been acting up lately (thus preventing me from cropping anything that looks nice). I have a set of the protagonists, but that one didn't turn out as well as this one. Besides, I like villains more anyway.

It has to be Ariel all the way for me! She had the determination to get what she wanted out of life, and wasnt scared of having great big dreams. Shes fun, friendly, happy, and always laughing or singing, as can be seen in her TV series. She is beautiful, both on the outside and inside.

I don't dislike any of the Princesses; far from it!! But if I had to have a list, it would go like this:

1) ARIEL

2) BELLE

3) JASMINE

4) CINDERELLA

5) AURORA

6) SNOW WHITE

Oops-------I forgot Pocahontas! Shes not really a Princess though, in my eyes any way.She is a cheifs daughter, and does not marry royalty either.
Anyway, thats my opinion!!
