So I'm wondering if I could get some opinions from those of you who have seen it before. Is it worth purchasing? Or is it kinda crappy like some of the sequals?

mickey's once upon a christmas
I saw mickey's once upon a christmas dvd at a store today and was wondering if I should purchase it. I haven't seen it before but by reading the back it kind of sounded interesting.

Yeah, it's not a bad video. Animation wise its as good as the "House of Mouse" tv series. Its a collection of short Christmas themed stories that are pretty good. I bought it and have no regrets, it's a nice holiday themed collection.
There is another one out there called "Snowed in at the House of Mouse" which is also pretty good. That one IS a House of Mouse episode and also has Mickey's Christmas Carol and the pilot episode of House of Mouse on it.

It's one of the OOP that Luke has on his OOP list....which actually only shows up once a year or so I picked up a copy but haven't watched it yet, but please know that you probably won't see the title until the holidays next year. I did see it at Wal-mart for 14.44 as well as Snowed in at the House of Mouse.

As much as I love House of Mouse, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas is MUCH better. It's like the crowning acheivement of all things Mickey and Christmas. It's the perfect Christmas gift.
I got it when it originally came out, and i still watch it all the time. It's one of, if not THE, best DTV ever.
Can't wait for Twice Upon a Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it was re-released recently (at the very least, in September Amazon had a new "release date" for it).poco wrote:It's one of the OOP that Luke has on his OOP list....which actually only shows up once a year or so I picked up a copy but haven't watched it yet, but please know that you probably won't see the title until the holidays next year. We have just had it released here in Region 4 (Aus) and it is quite cheap. I may pick it up on the weekend, being in the Xmassy mood that I am in.
Still don't know if it is good, but I must be complete!

It think I'll pick it up tonight. I haven't seen it, but Goofy is in it. That's good enough for me...

I don't like the Donald/Nephews segment very much at all. But the Mickey segment is great (and has a wonderful Pete - taking him back to his greedy, bullying 1930's incarnation) while the Goofy segment is superb - it made my daughter cry before the end. (But sadly features the lame Goof Troop Faux-Pete).
