Robin Hood swedish version redubbed?

Hi i was wondering if any of the Swedish(or swedish speaking) people
here would know if the Robin Hood dvd has been redubbed since the 1994 vhs release?

I have not found any such information, but when i watched the dvd it just sounded diffrent from the 1994 vhs(that i saw a few weeks ago). Mainly when little john and robin hood talks.

You must be imagining things. As far as I know, there's only been one set of Swedish voices for Robin Hood, and it was done for the film's theatrical release in 1974. It's on all Swedish video releases and the 2002 DVD.

Now you talking about redubings, let me tell something that happens here in brazil.

When lady and the tramp has arived here in it original release, it was dubbed by a really good actors, but they have a problem: the language that they used in that version is a very "polite" language, so, the children doesn´t understand the movie.

So, in 1995, they redubbed the movie, but this time the new actors has very bad talent and spoilted the movie. and the same actors made lady and the tramp 2 (in this, it performance was not "so" bad.)

So, now we have to choose: a good dubing with a hard language or a horrible dubbing with a simple language

ThiagoPE: Yes, it is definatly sad if they redubbed a then 40 years old movie because it was too hard for the children to understand. Why couldn't they just release it with both audio tracks.

Unfortunatedily, the limited edition of lady and the tramp in dvd here just come with the new track (to say the truth you can only get the old audio track in the vhs released in 1989!).

Let´s see if a new edition ( re-release) of it coul come with both tracks.

These have be re-dubbed:
1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 1937
2. Pinocchio 1940
3. Fantasia 1940 (New narrator, Jan Malmsjö.)
4. Dumbo 1941 (The only film that has be re-dubbed twice in Swedish)
5. Bambi 1942
9. Fun and Fancy Free 1947 (This is now being prepared for release in January 2004. Exact dubbing status isn't clear, but at least parts of it will be re-dubbed)
12. Cinderella 1950
13. Alice in Wonderland 1951
14. Peter Pan 1953
15. Lady and the Tramp 1955
16. Sleeping Beauty 1959
17. 101 Dalmatians 1961
22. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh 1977 (This film has been assembled from three short films. It's not likely that the full feature film was ever released with the original dubbings, since they were made individually for each of the short films. To make the whole film sound the same, I guess that a re-dub was called for.)
25. The Black Cauldron 1985
27. Oliver & Co. 1988

I read on the disneyania site that most of the 1994 bambi vhs was with the old voices and i was wondering if there is anyway to find out if it is the old voices or the newer ones that i have on my video. Also why is The Black Cauldron and Oliver & Co redubbed they are not that old

To find out which version you have of the Bambi soundtrack, you must listen for it. Here's one way:

Fast forward to approximately 5 minutes 45 seconds from the beginning of the movie. (Note! Not from the beginning of the tape.)

Watch the scene where all the animals greet Bambi as he opens his eyes for the very first time.

If the animals greet Bambi with the words "Goddag. Goddag lille prins" etc. you have the old original dub.

On the other hand, if they say "Hejsan. Hej på dej lille prins" etc. you have the new (1986) dub.

Noone (outside Disney) really knows for sure why "Oliver & Co." and "The Black Cauldron" were re-dubbed. The best guess is that it had something to do with contractual issues. Perhaps the original actors would have required unreasonable payment for a video release.

I have a VHS recording of ”nalle puh och honung treet” which I recorded back in 88 when TV3s broadcasts were the same for all Scandinavian countries. Although I’m Norwegian I find the Swedish dub is phenomenal and actually like it better then the English language one. I never though Sterling Holloway sounded very much like Pooh, although I love him in most of the other voices he does, especially The Jungle Book.

Are you telling me that it is not the same voce actor who does Pooh in the Swedish DVD as the old TV airings? When was the Swedish dub that is on the DVD made?

I hope its at least the same people involved.

That's correct. In the old version, Tor Isedal was the voice of Pooh. But he's no longer with us. He passed away in 1990.

When was the Swedish dub that is on the DVD made?

I'm not 100% sure, but an educated guess is that it was made for the video release in 1997.
