I just want to say a BIG thank you for your advice and encouragement!

I wound up buying 101 Dalmatians today (it actually came around wednesday, but because of school, I wasn't able to go to the store until today). Anyway, I just wanted to say that the DVD works fine, and is in very good shape! no scratches, the insert is flawless, and the coverart is intact. (The only thing wrong is that it looks like someone spilled something on the case, and so the back of it's a little warped/warpy. At least the see-through plastic part is warped). But other than that, WHAT-A-STEAL! :D :D :D And, not to mention, this DVD is 100% authentic!! woohoo! I love my Gamestop! :P (Although, I actually had to go to 2 seperate Gamestops in my town in order to also pick up Dumbo...but I have yet to watch that one. I will do that tommorow...maybe very late tonight. Then I will post the results on that thread I started. :P )

Anyway, thanks again! Oh, and DisneyFreak, how's the transfer-thing going with your copy of 101 Dalmatians? Or, were you able to get one tranfered at all? (Oh, I forgot to mention, they don't ask for your age. So, unless you sound like a six year old on the phone, and you know what you're talking about / want, I don't think you'll have a problem. They have never asked me my age, and i've done this many times.) And again, good luck!!

While they might be released in a box set, I would you could probably get the first and second now, and the third later, for less than the cost of a box set.

The first one (and maybe the second one) is on sale at Best Buy for 6.99 or 5 for $30, I believe.

If you care about such things, the first movie had a scene removed that was in the theatrical version. Scott Calvin's ex-wife gives him the number of Neil's parents when she drops off the kid, and SC remarks: "1-800-Spank-Me?? I know that number!"

Instead of redubbing this to something less "offensive", Disney removed the scene entirely... It is doubtful that it will ever be released on any home video format with that scene intact again, though... It was intact on Laserdisc (and maybe VHS.) I don't know if it still airs on TV with that scene intact.

Also, there was a version of the first movie on DVD that had a sparkly cover. It looked just like the current cover, except the white frame was silver sparkles, instead. I don't know if that cover is still available anywhere or not (maybe used,) if you were interested in it.

I'd suggest reading Luke's review of the Santa Clause Special Edition. There's a link to it on the front page of the site. Good luck!

Well, I have the second film already, but I still only have the first on DVD, and I'm holding out to see if a truly Special Edition of it is released when Santa Clause 3 comes to DVD.

For a 3-disc box set, I'd guess a $44.99 - $59.99 price tag, selling in most stores for $30-$45. By the following Christmas, though, I bet that would be reduced so that you could buy it for around the cost of a single new DVD, say $29.99 - $34.99 SRP. That's just some educated guessing, though. I'm not sure there will even be any kind of box set for the three of them and if there is, like Dave says, fullscreen-only versions seem like a sad but realistic possibility.

Don't forget this boxset won't even be released untill November of next year, as most Christmas movies released in the fall dont come out on dvd untill a year later, to make as most as they can off the Christmas season. With the deals you can find after Christmas on a lot of christmas movies, (I got Santa Clause 2 for 5 dollars) I would just get the first two now. Plus there might not even be a boxset released, at least a good one, they could just package all three single dvd releases into a crappy box.

Geez, Kingpopper, don't you think that you need a little more patience when you are submitting your posts. Just hit the submit button once, and wait. Sometimes it takes a little longer than other times. Hitting your refresh button just adds up the number of times the same thing is posted. Also you have the ability to delete............so go to each of your posts that don't need to be there..........click on the X button and delete each of the unneeded posts. You can do that, can't you?

If you want to wait until the box set, why not search for each of the first two 'Clause' movies in a used DVD store. I picked both of mine up for less than $10 used, and they are in perfect condition. The box set, as previously noted, may not be available until next year, if there is a box set. There are no guarantees about that.

I have noticed in the past few years that DVDs aren't being included in "post Holiday" sales. Where do you still manage to find such deals? I know Target used to mark their Christmas DVDs down with all the other stuff after Christmas, but are they still doing that? Is anyone else? I used to like to try and get that stuff after the holidays, including the various holiday themed Barbies, but those are no longer included in the sales either it seems.

I've decided to get mine now for two reasons:

1. I want them for the up and coming Christmas season.
2. For some reason, I don't see a boxset happening.

Disney R1 doesn't really go for the boxset idea ...

but if you are in R2 ... Disney totally loves the boxset ...

I have browsed the UK Amazon.com and I have seen so many boxsets for the Disney animated classics and classic Disney films ... it is ridiculous ...

And some of the boxsets don't even have a particular theme ... its like ... MARY POPPINS ... THE ARISTOCATS ... and ALICE IN WONDERLAND ... all jumbled together in a cardboard box ...

So I doubt R1 will get a Santa trilogy boxset ... but R2 might ...

The only trilogy set I have seen is for The Mighty Ducks movies ...

Well, I snagged a pretty shnazzy Region 1 boxed set of The Love Bug classic films, and they put the Aladdin sequels in a set.

For me though, I am holding out not for a boxed set, but for a possible 2-disc special edition or some upgrade like that.

I forgot about the Love Bug set ... I own it too LOL ...

My whole point was that R2 loves boxsets ... and Disney really hasn't done them here in R1 as much as they have in R2 ...

well, if they're at a good price buy them now, my uncles always wait for box sets of movies, and pay twice what I pay and all they get are extra scenes, and stuff that they don't even watch, or watch once or twice. Besides it's the movie you should be after not the special bonus features. Well, all I know is I've saved money just buying the movie and being happy with it, instead of worrying about if it's coming out in a box set :)
