Where do you get your out of print disney dvd

Post by the-reason »

Besides amazon and other online shopping center like places, where else do you go to seek out and possibly purchase the out of print disney dvds. Im asking for myself in the future and because Ive recently have had some trouble with an amazon seller and would like an alternative. Ive heard of gamestop and blockbuster including these what else?

GameStop is EXCELLENT! They have OOP DACs all the time! Blockbuster doesn't, IDK who you heard that from... But also try F.Y.E. (in your mall), or try Toys R Us (they have a lot of Gold Collection and Platinum Edition DVDs).

If you have any retailer or little mom and pop shop that sells used DVDs and CD's, I would check there. I have seen some at F.Y.E. and CD Warehouse before and a couple other places. Just keep your eyes open.

Check your local used DVD retailers, and Pawn shops, there are always Disney titles at these stores.

Also check out:

www.cdtradepost.com

They have several stores in many different states and they do mail order. So check with their website, if you find the movie you want, contact them by email and they will get it to you promptly.

In know here in the South we have a large chain of stores called Hastings and they sell alot of used copies or movies. I've gotten the PE's of Aladdin, Bambi, Lady and the Tramp, and The Little Mermaid there.

I get mine from eBay, but believe me, I make sure evvverrryyy little detail is on there so there not bootlegged or imported. I ask If its sealed and still shrinked wrapped, where was it bought, actual photos of it, the Buena Vista logo, slip covers. Yeah there really hard to find, I bought Beauty and the Beast for $49.00, Sleeping Beauty for $43.00, The Lion King(surprisingly only $23.00) and yeah. Those are the only OOP Disney Dvd's I bought that are legit. I can't say eBay is the best way to buy low priced DVD's but some authentic DVDs are on there but most of them are fakes. Unfortunatly when I was new to eBay and didnt know that they did that, and I got ripped off with Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid limited issue which were both bootlegged. So now Im hunting for 101 Dalmations and I couldnt find one authentic dvd of it.

Why pay all that outrageous money for a movie? If you didn't get it new when it was released, for whatever reason, then look for it used. Surely you can't be that nitpicky about whether it has the inserts or the original shrink wrap on it. Buying used copies of Disney titles is the best way to go and then when they are re-issued at a later date you don't feel so financially challenged about rebuying that particular title.

Used DVD's are as good as new ones as long as you buy them from a reputable business. With all the problems eBay is having with bootleggers, I would never take that chance.

I walked into a blockbuster and saw movies like Hunchback 2, BatB, and a whole bunch of others that arent in regular stores. You can rent them, but later decide to keep them.

don't refresh if your post doesn't go right away, it may just be hanging.

Has anyone tried half.com? I'm trying to get the Vault Disney of Parent Trap and I absolutely refuse to but the dvd out there that has the TV Sequel with it.

I'll try GameStop next time I'm at the mall, though. Our FYE at the mall closed and was replaced with a snowboarding (or such) shop.....

I'm not that nitpicky, but I want the DVD to A) work and B) at least have the insert.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

You'd be surprised of the variety they have at Costco. Out of my collection, I bought over 30 DVDs at ebay, but I carefully chose the sellers. Also gamestop.com and second.spin.com. But to begin a collection disneydrect.com or the Disney Movie Club are the best alternative.

I had never been to a Gamestop looking for movies before, but the other day I went to one, and I saw one bin with used DVDs, and they had no Disney DVDs at all...I wasn't necessarily going to buy one, but I just wanted to see the selection...after reading that many of you have found bargains there, I had my hopes too high...oh well...I'll check again someday! :)
