Despite protesting against the film earlier in the year, I relented and bought EzyDVD's 2-Disc Tin of Cars.

I was surprised at just how much stuff was included on the second disc, including a music video; a making of the music video; a featurette on the music in the film as well as featurettes on Pixar's car afficiandos on staff; making the life-sized Cars for global display; interviews with various members of cast and crew and some international perspectives.

The whole thing runs about 45 minutes, which certainly doesn't make it a super special edition (even with the deleted scenes; featurettes and other bonuses on Disc 1), but makes it slightly more worthwhile than the single disc.

Had a very nice friend get me a get-well gift (actually he called my wife and asked her what he could get for me that would put a big smile on my face). He presented me Garth Brooks - The Entertainer, the 5-disc definitive collection of Garth Brooks at his best. In front of an audience with his great band, he turns on the charm and the music and never fails to bring a smile to my face whenever I watch his shows. Now on these five discs we have - This Is Garth Brooks, This Is Garth Brooks, Too, Garth Live in Dublin, Garth Live In Central Park, and then the fifth disc is 17 music videos including three that have never seen the light of day. The bonus features on each disc include photo galleries, and extra songs. The only thing I see wrong with this set is that they used the 'short' version of the HBO concert in Central Park as opposed to the longer almost 2-hour version that was only shown once (but I have on VHS and have transferred to DVD+R). This gift definitely put a great big smile on my face.

Good news from the doctor today, also, and that is I will be cleared to go back to work on Thursday. Yippeee!!!! It's only been a month, and I am going stir crazy here at home unable to wear shoes or get out and about, except the one time I cheated and went to the show with my son-in-law.

The Little Mermaid / The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea Boxset R2 UK

Some 80s film that's supposedly popular and its sequel

Image
The Secret of NIMH R2 UK

Masterpiece of a film and though it pains me to say it, much better than anything Disney made during the 80s. The UK DVD is widescreen, but should it be? Anyone have the R1 fullscreen version so I can compare?

Yay free 3D glasses!

Doctor Who - Genesis of the Daleks R2 UK
This'll be the first classic Who I've ever seen, I know someone who'll be happy! ;) It better be good or there'll be hell to pay!

NIMH was a very good choice!! One of my all-time favorites. I've always loved it since I was a kid. Especiall Mrs Brisby singing to her sick son Timmy.
It's a beautiful movie, although very different from the book.
The widescreen version on the R2 Disc is the correct aspect ratio.

I don't actually recall ever saying that I thought Chicken Little was good! I said I liked the characters, found them amusing and wet myself the first time I saw it, but I never actually said it was good! ;)
