Let's start off with the YAYs ...

Debi Mazar ... YAY

Salma Hayek ... YAY YAY YAY!

Or shall I say ... VA VA VA VOOOM

I absolutely loved Salma as Sofia Reyes ... Damn is she soo sooo sexy ... with and without her top LOL

And it seems Debi is going to help the Suarez clan with their immigration problems ...

To try and make the $20,000 that they will need for a good lawyer ... Betty goes to work selling her sister's Herbalux products (Lost 10 pounds in 10 days) to her co-workers ...

Wilhelmina's troubled daughter storms into town and turns her world upside down ...

So who exactly is Sofia Reyes ... she is the new editor-in-chief of a brand new MEADE Publication ... NYW ... and Daniel instantly is drawn to her ... too bad for him ... she is on to his game ...

Their scenes in the elevator ... particularly the last one ... were too too good ... especially when she slapped him for taking a peak under her skirt ... Was it his fault really? She did say she wasn't wearing any undies LOL ...

Sofia will be causing plenty of drama at MEADE and MODE throughout November and I can't wait for more of Salma ...

So ... Wilhelmina hears of Betty's problem and she cuts her a check for 20 Gz ... Of course there is a catch ... In the future she is going to want to get all the dirt on Daniel so she can take him down and reign as editor-in-chief of MODE ...

In the end ... Betty returns the check ... and it seems that maybe Debi may save the day ...

Salma is muy caliente! Gosh I am loving her as Ms. Reyes ... and it looks like Daniel is loving her too ...

Betty has a new assignment ... she is going to a super luxurious hotel to critique it's services for the magazine ... and she has to go ASAP ... leaving her boyfriend Walter and their planned Atlantic City trip on the backburner ...

A prospective advertiser for the magazine gets courted by Wilhelmina ...

And we get to meet Justin's father ... and he gives the family the money Ignacio needs for his lawyer ...

After much flirting ... and casual glances ... Sofia and Daniel get it on ... in a photo booth? LOL ... and it appears as if Daniel got hooked ... only to find out that Sofia has ... a ... boyfriend LOL

UB news ... from E! Online's Watch with Kristen ...
Exclusive! Rebecca Romijn Joins Ugly Betty!
By Kristin Veitch
Dec 6, 2006 5:58 PM

I heart Ugly Betty. And I heart Rebecca Romijn. So, needless to say, I am over the moon to share with you the exclusive scoop I just dug up: Rebecca Romijn is joining the cast of Ugly Betty! You heard me right. Joining the cast. As in, a series regular. As in, indefinitely.

[I'll pause while you freak out over the good news.]

According to sources connected to Betty and Rebecca (get used to hearing those names side by side!), the lovely Ms. Romijn will be arriving on the Betty set next week to begin her work on the ABC dramedy that has become an instant hit among anyone with even a smidge of decent taste.

As far as who Rebecca will be playing, don't read any further if you don't wanna know, but I have the goods!

According to sources, Rebecca will be playing the woman behind all the bandages! If you're a fan, you should know exactly who I am talking about. (And if you haven't been watching, you're gonna get on the Betty/Rebecca train pronto, right?)

By the way, some of you may remember that while I was on the Ugly Betty set a couple of weeks ago, Eric Mabius (Daniel Meade) teased to me that "the audience is in a store for a real shock. One of the women they introduce to try and tempt me away from Sofia [Salma Hayek] will be kind of amazing." When asked if he read with this new mystery woman during her audition, he let out a little chuckle and said, "No, trust me. This was an offer type situation."

Sure sounds like he's talking about our dear Rebecca, no? And if so, Salma, honey, you'd better watch your man.

Gosh ... I just re-watched the finale ... and damn was it good ...

Out of all the finales that I watched ... LOST ... Grey's ... Desperate ... Boston ... this is the show that I can't wait to see what happens next ...

Grey's was depressing ... LOST was intriguing ... Boston was perfect ... Desperate had me yearning for more ... But BETTY had me going WTF ??? and looking at the calendar to count the days to when the fall season starts up again ...

What a cliffhanger ... I mean ... Whoa the cliffhangers!?!

Amanda and Christina locked in Fey's secret room ... Amanda being Fey's daughter ... and Christina having a hubby back home ...

Skank Charlie taking Henry away from Betty ... Charlie being preggers ... Charlie cheating on Henry with Betty's ortho ... and Charlie and Henry flying away ...

Bradford proposing to Wilhelmina ... and Willy telling Daniel to call her "mommy" ...

Daniel spiraling downwards due to the drugs ... Alexis paying a man to kill her father ... Alexis driving Daniel to the hospital in her fathers car ... and whoops ... the man she paid cut the brakes ... BOOM! ... Daniel and Alexis are in a car crash ...

Ignacio is stranded in Mexico going through litigation so that he can return home ...

Hilda gets engaged and is ready to wed her beau Santos ... when he gets shot at the convenience store by a burglar ...

Oh and let's not forget Claire ... she escapes prison ... with her butchy female prisoner friends LOL ... to make sure Wilhelmina doesn't get married to Bradford ...

WOW! Did I miss anything? That was incredible ... I was literally at the edge of my seat those last 5 minutes of the ep ...

Fantastic! It surely will be a long summer ...

I was looking for this thread and couldn't find it!

I just got into watching Ugly Betty when it started here in Germany some weeks ago, but from the first episode on I was hooked. Completely!!!
It is amazing, funny, stylish, there are secrets, Salma Hayek ( ).... and a lot more!! A stunning show and certainly the best new series of this season.
I love America Ferrara's portrayal of Betty and the rest of the cast is just as great, especially her dad Ignacio, her nephew, Wilhelmina (awesome villain)...

We had a show about a year ago here in Germany that was based on the same telenovela as Ugly Betty is, and I hated that one. It was cheesy, full of love clichées and, well it was bleh!
But Ugly Betty is much cleverer, funnier, better dialogues, and the setting of MODE magazine is amazing!!

So,yeah, I love Betty!!!

Let's hope that America Ferrara takes home the Emmy in September!

I just think she is such a talented young actress.

Not to switch topics or anything, but anyone see her in the film Real Women Have Curves? Outstanding movie and great performance from Ferrara.

The American Latino Media Arts Award, or ALMA Award is a distinction awarded to Latino performers (actors, film and television directors, and musicians) who promote positive portrayals of Latinos in the entertainment field. In Spanish alma means spirit or soul.

Created in 1995 by the National Council of La Raza, it takes over from the previous Bravo Awards. It's part of NCLR's strategy to counter the negative stereotyping of Latinos in US entertainment. The awards are given during an annual ceremony held in June.
