YOUR Disney Halloween Costume

Did anyone dress up as a Disney character for Halloween?

Little did I know that one of my friends was ALSO going to dress up as a Disney character!
In the past I had always dressed up as different superheroes, but now that I've dressed as a Disney character, I think I like it!

I didn't this year but when I was a kid I dressed up as Beast from BATB one year.

He's very talented with costumes and make-up and all of that.

In previous years he's been Witchipoo (from H. R. Pufnstuf) and Endora from Bewitched.

He siad the costume itself was easy to put together put he had the hardest part of all making the parrot head for the umbrella.

Hey - that makes me wonder - does the parrot have a name?

I am actually younger than you, but I have reached the age that on Halloween I sat waiting for people to knock on my door. I no longer collect candy, I hand it out...I knew I shouldn't have come back from Neverland!

When I was younger, I dressed as Dopey from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

When I was five, I think, I had a Belle dress. The blue one with the white apron. And a basket!!

OMG! I dressed up as the same thing (mouseketeer)! Sadly most of my classmates didn't get it. One of the ladies in the office knew right away since she grew up with the original series. I'll post a picture soon...

last year I dressed up as an original mousketeer. One of my students said they were rather disappointed that I would wear just my mouse ears and a mickey shirt. I said "I AM ONE OF THE ORIGINAL 1955 MOUSKETEERS!" and she replied "You were! wow!" What makes this especially funny is my mother was born in 1955. I guess I just look old to my students.

I posted this over in the Happy Halloween thread, in off-topic. However, I just came across this thread, here in General Discussion, and felt it would be a good place to post this.

My nephew, Camden, who is 1 1/2 years old, was dressed up as his favorite Disney/Pixar character, Nemo. I know I am biased, but, I think he is so cute!

One year, I dressed as Genie in a costume I made myself. A couple years ago, I pulled the mask back out, and my Goofy hat from Disney World, and made a "Vacation Genie" costume. Both can be seen in my Deviant Art gallery: http://www.slave2moonlight.deviantart.com

As a little kid, I once one a costume contest as Pinocchio, and I once dressed as Dopey also. Nobody got the "Dopey" costume, because I put the shoes on my knees and went around walking on my knees (the old "Dorf" bit), but nobody understood that.... *sigh*

Might have done some other Disney ones, but I can't think of any offhand. I was Fred Flintstone the last two Halloweens.

That Mary Poppins in the first post, I thought that was Rob Lowe for a second, ha.

Two years ago, at a costume party, I went dressed as Esmeralda... I still have it but it makes me sneeze after so much time hidden in the closet

Shawn, those are nice costumes! You look really great as a mouseketeer and your friend is an awesome and fun Mary Poppins. That is really cool that he made the umbrella handle himself.

I'd like to dress as a chimney sweep one of these years, but have never done it.

It definitely was a fun time. I was surprised with how many people who were "young-ish" recognized the Mouseketeer outfit.
And I really noticed that a LOT of people would see my costume and just break out a huge smile. It felt great, and I think I got a sliver of an idea what it must be like to be a 'face' character at Disney World.

Very good costumes. So authentic looking. The vacation was a great idea. I also enjoyed the extra opportunity to browse through the rest of your fantastic gallery. I wish I could have seen the Dopey costume. That's very original!

Thanks very much. The Dopey costume was when I was a kid, made by my mother with a store-bought pattern I believe. The Pinocchio one, from when I was even younger, was probably a better costume. Don't think I have pics of either.

Not really planning this for Halloween or anything, in fact, haven't thought about doing this in a while, but the Mouseketeer costume reminded me. My sis and I have always wanted to make "Biddle Bible Class" sweatshirts like the ones from "Happiest Millionaire," a favorite Disney film of ours, ha. I'm sure hardly anyone would know what they were from though.
