"In the Vaults" means the member is banned, not missing. The only other ranking for banned members is "Banned Deadbeat" for Secret Santa deadbeats.Josh wrote:After searching for threads I came across some old threads with users who don't post anymore. I noticed that one of these users, 'Tangela' had a unique U.D Ranking I'd never seen before, their ranking was 'In The Vaults'. I was wondering what this meant?
Is this the ranking missing members get, if so, how long were they gone to get this ranking?
I was just curious
I think that's a customised ranking. Deathie either loved Ultra Violet (which I think he did, I should research) or it's related to Blu-ray as in Violet blue laser. An Ultra Violet blue laser would probably enable about 1 terabyte if used as an optical disc storage system, not that that is related to anything.Julian Carter wrote:Umm... to continue on what Josh has said...I also sometimes browse through old threads. It's not the first time that I've across deathie mouse. The ranking beneath his name says "Ultraviolet Edition".
What does it mean?
Don't let it get to you, Maverick. I've had my fair share of annoyances at newbies too, but then I remember this place would go to hell if people left every week because of a few inquisitive newbies. Besides, remember that every poster starts out as an inquisitive newbie. Heck, I joined three years ago (and 2 days) and some of my early posts were truly bandwidth wasting. If anyone remembers my "ignore this..." thread, they'll know just how big I was on being a bandwidth waster. So SillyMcCool8349 may not be your favorite poster today, but a week/month/year from now you'll probably find you can't pass the day without reading their posts.Josh the Maverick wrote:I was missing for about a month and a half, I kinda left because a certain member was starting to get on my nerves, I think he's a 10 year old who lied to come onto UD, in the end I just gave up and stopped coming here...it's funny, UltimateDisney use to be what I would race home for, because I loved reading responses, reviews, new topics, arguments, conversations, I loved this website more than youtube and myspace combined, but the annoyance of Newbies got to me
Nice to hear you went from a "Yay, Disney!" to "Eh, Disney..." to "Yay, Disney!"!!! And remember, we're an odd bunch who talk about more than Disney (more than Disney? Inconceivable!). Of course, somehow everything seems to relate back to Disney, but that's the way it is. We'll find the strangest ways to connect something as odd as...belly button lint...to Disney. For example, belly button lint is mentioned in The <strike>Worst</strike> Best School Year Ever, which itself also mentions how one kid can't go to Disneyland because he's got to go to fat camp.Josh the Maverick wrote:It really sucks, since I haven't been visiting UD my passion for Disney has died down and it's almost dead, I didn't want any Disney DVD's for christmas, I went to America and didn't buy ANY Disney DVD's, I was planning on buying all 45, even if they were discontinued, I'd find a way to buy them. I was anticipating buying Disney DVD's on that trip for 1 year and a half and then I didn't even come home with 1. Also, when I went to America this past December/January, I went to Disneyland for the first time in my life, that was the only thing other than have a wife and children that I wanted to do before I died...go to Disneyland, and I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I wanted to (we didn't go to California Adventure Park though) but seeing Fantasmic sparked my love for Disney again and I thought I'd come back here. It's just strange how obsessed I was with this website and then I just stopped caring...
We noticed! Well, at least I did. Who else can I call Maverick on UD and mean it without the Top Gun homoerotic undertones? Post more often! The Custom DVD cover thread has died, and I think BDF is tired of picking up your slack and making the list of what members contributed to the post...Josh the Maverick wrote:I doubt you guys noticed I was gone though

Escapay wrote:Tangela is a whole chapter in the UD history. Unfortunately, I came a couple months after he was banned so I don't know the full story, but to sum it up, there were different internet aliases, lying about his age, sex, and orientation, verbal abuse in the chat room, and a rabid love for The Rescuers.

That's exactly what I've been thinking for a really long time. It scares me.xxhplinkxx wrote:You know, one thing thats always troubled me is that if I were to die, how would the people in my online life ever find out??
What if that might have happened to some of the people that have been missing for a really long time?
Sorry for the morbid thought.
