2007 Animation Preview

Post by Kingpopper »

With all the other threads about animated films, I thought this would be good time to post this. I'll update this list with changes when they happen.

Happily N'Ever After (Lions Gate/Vanguard ) – January 5th
Arthur and the Invisibles (Weinstein) – January 12th
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Warner) – March 23rd
Meet the Robinsons (Disney) - March 30th
Shrek the Third (Dreamworks) - May 18th
Surf's Up (Sony) - June 8th
Ratatouille (Disney/Pixar) - June 29th
The Simpsons Movie (Fox) - July 27th
Nightmare Before Christmas (Disney Digital 3D) - October 19th
Bee Movie (Dreamworks) – November 2nd
Beowulf (Sony) – November 16th
Foodfight! (Lions Gate) - November 16th
Enchanted (Disney) – November 21st

Note: This list is only films, that have announced release dates, as there are a few more in production for next year. If I list one, I have to list all of them, and the general "2007" release dates are a lot of times wrong.

I thought that TMNT was scheduled for March 30th?

Guess they dont want to have to compete with MTR...

Yeah, they moved it up about a month ago. It's weird to see a lot of these movies coming out just a week after each other. Didn't Hollywood see how Ant Bully bombed being stuck in the middle of Monster House and Barnyard, and how Monster House and Barnyard probably lost some money too, due to all three of them coming out three weeks in a row. I guess theres only so many weeks in the summer, and its even harder to release an animated film any other time of the year.

AGREED!!! I'm getting so excited for it...though I don't know if its just the fact that it's 9 months away, or are they being really secretive about this movie? All I've seen is the teaser trailer of Homer sitting on the couch with a Superman shirt on. This Animation in that trailer looked like the early-mid 90's Simpsons, which in some ways is good considering thats when they peaked.

I'm pretty sure this will do well at the box-office, possibly might even beat Shrek (or Shrek 2 I forget which one it is) as the highest grossing animated film ever. But theres just something I don't like about TV Shows having their own movies. The 'Family Guy' movie was great, but it was direct-to-video. The South Park one was also funny....Was that theatrical or D-T-V though?

Happily N'Ever After (Lions Gate) – Haven't heard much about this...but I'll probably give it a view.

Arthur and the Invisibles (Weinstein) – Looks very intriguing.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Warner) – Looks a little cartoony...but, hey, it's TMNT!

Meet the Robinsons (Disney) - Looks promising. I'll give it a view. Only wish it was traditionally animated...

Shrek the Third (Dreamworks) - Cannot wait! Shrek is Dreamwork's best CGI work.

Surf's Up (Sony) - looks just like "Happy Feet"...what is up with all the penguin movies??

Ratatouille (Disney/Pixar) - YAY! Looks hilarious and heartwarming in traditional Pixar style!

The Simpsons Movie (Fox) - Sorry, but I have disliked the Simpsons for years...

Bee Movie (Dreamworks) – Guessing this is a working title...sounds a little silly...

Beowulf (Sony) – Wow! This sounds really interesting! CGI or traditional? Anyone know?

Enchanted (Disney) – SO excited to see this! It will be spectacular!
:pan: Love It.

Neato. Snow White looks a little reminiscent of the Disney princess.
