Very sorry to hear that, Jake. Losing loved ones is hard, especially so soon. I, too, will be praying for you.

Wow Jake, that's really sad, I'm 14 too, and I can't even fathom losing my father. My dad had two heart attacks when he was 49, and he was very fortunate to survive. I hope that you will have strength to pull through this tough time, and you will be in my thoughts and prayers. May the lord be with you and your loved ones during this time.

I lost my mother last year (very, very long story). I'm 22 now. So I know exactly what you're going through. Losing loved ones is no doubt the worst part of life, but we have to accept it, as depressing it is. I will say this, and right now you might not believe it, but as time goes by you'll begin to feel better and start thinking about the happy memories.

It took me about a year to start thinking more of the good days than the bad ones (when mom got seriously ill). I even had a few unpleasant dreams once in a while (the first one being exactly two weeks after she died, which I'll never forget). You probably won't have a good holiday season this year, but your next one will be better. After you've gotten through all 365 days and all the special days in the year, the following years will be easier.

You'll be fine. Grieving is a natural process. We'll be thinking about you. I'm sorry for your loss.

:( I'm sorry...I'm 14 too, and I don't really have a good relationship with my dad, he's not a very healthy person, he smokes and doesn't really do much activity, but I just went out and gave him a hug. I'm sorry for your loss, especially when your dad was so young, and you being so young as well. It must hurt so much, just know that even though you can't see him, doesn't mean he's not with you. I'll be praying for you and your family tonight at church.
You've taught me not to take my dad for granted, sometimes life's not fair, you'll get through this though, and after a few years of pain, and many years of happiness, eventually all of your family will be reunited with your dad.
R.I.P Jammin Jakes dad :(

Man, that's sad news to lose someone you love at that age.
Even when you are so close to that person.

My condolences to you, Jake. I too know the heartbreak of losing a parent at a young age. My mother passed away when I was nine. I will be praying for you and your family.

Thanks. The thing that gets me is that he was improving a lot from his heart failure (caused by a virus) and then he got a staff infection which they said was not a worry and then the next day they called and said he took a turn for the worst... My mom and I were hugging him telling him not to leave us when he died. At that point he was in a comma but earlier when I was crying he lifted his hand up to wipe away my tears and promised me he wouldn't die. Then at the memorial service I was holding his hand and that was the same hand that I held when I was scared, sad or just needed to be comforted. That same hand fed me food when I was little and picked me up when I got hurt and then there he is lying there - life less. My dad, my hero, me

Jake - so sorry. My dad died, although I was 36. I cant imagine what it would have been like at 14. My prayers. As others have said, time will heal it.
