"Year of a Million Dreams" Discussion
Today we will discuss the 15-month long "Year of a Million Dreams" celebration. Now that Disneyland is done with the "50th Anniversary Celebration", we will talk about it right now. As anybody look forward to that?

I didn't realize they were doing any work on the living seas.

Don't see how I forgot to post this, but the first dream "prize" occurred on the first day of the new promotion, October 4, 2006.
The Spangler family (Mother, Father, 2 kids) were awarded the Keys to the Kingdom, and had the Magic Kingdom to themselves for one whole day.
Check it out
Unfortunately, with my seasonal status, nobody in my family will have a Dream come true, what with the "no family members of castmembers are eligible" rule.

That's why this time next year, I'm doing the Disney College Program!!!!!Sound like the new celebration is going to be really great. I hope I can make it -- but I'm sure I will sometime n 15th months. If it weren't for having a job, going to school, and lack of funds ... I would probably spend my whole life in Disney World!!![]()
Ya know, I should really look into that. I am still at a community college taking classes and I have NO idea what I want to do. NONE! Do you think you could send some information on that my way, or post a link to where I could go look into it? That would be great!goofystitch wrote:That's why this time next year, I'm doing the Disney College Program!!!!!I can't wait!

I just got back from WDW and was very impressed with the Year of a Million Dreams. Not only did I witness several dreams come true for people, but actually received my own. At Disney Quest I was approached by a cast member while waiting in line for CyberSpace Mountain; and was given a DVD of my parties ride. We also got a certificate with our names and dream given.
I also got to see the new stage show Dream-Along with Mickey and was very impressed. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and others are at the party and try to prove to Donald that dreams are real. Also I got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy in their Year of a Million Dreams outfits while I was in Epcot.
Definately go down for this celebration if you get a chance!

after the cruise we spent a dew days playin in the parks @ WDW.
Saw the new stageshow Dream Along w/ Mickey & it was cute...not as good as Cinderellas Surprise Celebration...but def better then Cinderellabration...
It features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, & Goofy.
other characters seen in the show:
Cinderella, Prince Charming, Aurora, Prince Phillip, Snow White, Snow Prince/Prince Valliant, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, Peter Pan, Wendy, Malificent.
& of course the dancers/background singers.
The characters get to have their dreams come true: Minnie gets to dance among the princesses, goofy gets to swashbuckle w/ the pirates, & of course Mickey helps Donald & the audience to save the day.
good to see Malificent in the show- we havent seen her star in a WDW stageshow since Every Days' a Holiday in the Halloween segment-also w/ Captain Hook...but we've seen the captian more recently in CSC.
We also saw the High School Musical Pep-Rally...well bits & pieces of it at least...(lemme just say that HSM is CRAZY hyped on the cruise!!!! At the deck parties, they played it on the TV at Goofy Pool, at Castaway Cay they had a HSM Dance class hour...plus walking by one of the lounges-it was like clockwork for a few nights in a row- they were teaching the kids the dances from the movie)
anywho- at the pep-rally in Tomorrowland- they also teach the kids the dance moves. By then, my hubby was so sick of hearing the music from the movie tho...then he had to deal w/ me & my friends singing along & "dancing" haha.....
Capt Jack Sparrow was recruiting new pirates in Adventureland. He was AWESOME....very good w/ both kids & adults alike- humorous to watch as well.
Dream Squad found us too.
We were crossing the bridge in Frontierland over to Splash.
CM asked where were heading & we were on our way to Splash....i was def gonna skip the ride this time- i really didnt want to get wet. Our Dream Squad CM-Angel- would not let the ride go on unless i went on (my friend also didnt want to go on)
He backdoored us on the attraction & beyond hesitation, i went on too- & he came on too....
when it was over, we got pix from the ride & he gave us passes to go on whatever attraction we wanted to- we went on Thunder- it had a really long line.
every day- each disnet theme park is 'granting' 3K dreams, from small dreams like a magical fast pass, to dinner at the disney restaurants for the whole family, to free cruises for the family, getting the entrire MK park for your family for a night/day, to staying overnight in Cindys Castle in a new apartment being furbished for the celebration.
every day- all the flags on top the buildings on Main Street USA will be changed.
the Cinderella Castle will have its new apartment ready by Jan sometime.
Cinderella Castle is getting a new color to it....a more pinkish/beige tint instead of the grey/white.
new park tickets feature "dreams come true" moments w/ the characters & the attractions.
I'll be going back 2-3x next year for the party & to visit of course.
if u get the chance to visit the parks during the celebration- def dont miss out. it's a magical time to visit!
