WTF?!?!?!!!! Okay did Johnny Depp say he got inspiration from Captian Hook or something because if he did I never heard that. WTF Disney, W-T-F?
Whoa...never noticed it until now. Don't see how or WHY they had to bother putting that blurb in. Makes little sense. I mean, I can get how they're similar in that they're comical pirates, but Hook was a villain. Captain Jack wasn't. Then again, he wasn't much of a hero either, just a character that goes wherever it benefits him.

Disney's gonna promote POTC any chance they get, won't they?

Who's willing to bet that one day we'll see Abu be promoted as The Original Jack the Monkey?

At least those two characters were created by the same screenwriters. ;)

Looks like we're going to have do the same thing with Peter Pan that we did with The Little Mermaid: gather information from international press releases and BBFC classifcations to get a complete idea of what'll be on the DVD. Thanks for the detailed press release, Disney.

Woot, I get to be #17 in Escapay's WIST series! :D

I haven't read all of the posts in this thread but I did see that some folks are hoping for a featurette on Tinker Bell. I'm happy to say that is one of the things planned for the new edition. I taped a segment for that about three weeks ago. I won't ruin the surprises and go into details, but they have some fun stuff in that segment, as well as the other special features. More info when they lift the cone of silence.

Thanks for the information Bill. Are you by any chance able to let us know if there will be a new making of? Or is the "You Can Fly" the same one previously released on the single disc Special Edition of Peter Pan? I'm really hoping for a lengthier more informative documentary. I was very dissapointed with the previous making of, so I really hope there is a new one.

You know it's a shame that it doesn't look like the documentary about the 9 old men won't be ported over from the French 2 disc Special Edition.

It's really simple, but a really nice tribute. It's about 30 minutes long and is basically Jonathan Canemaker talking to the camera about each of the 9 old Men in turn, showing clips of the scenes they have animated / directed etc and their history at Disney!

It's not looking good for the silent version being included either, but since I have the French 2 Disc SE, I couldn't give a monkey's if they're not on the PE, it means i won't be double dipping too much on bonus features! ;)

Still got my fingers crossed for the inclusion of the 1951 Christmas show! :(

Seeing the ugly red new logo against a different background made me hate it even more! lol. C'mon Disney! Make it blue or green and use the font you have used since the 80's!!!!! They ressurected the font for the "Cinderella" platinum from it's original VHS release and they kept "The Little Mermaid"'s logo the same from 1998 complete with shell and all! And the new one for "Lady and the Tramp" wasn't drastically different like Pan's logo is. To guote Herman Munster, "I hate it, I hate it, I HATE IT!"

Did everyone check out the updated version of the cover art for the Platinum Edition release of Peter Pan? It's actually just a minor change: the banner at the top where it says Platinum Edition was gold and has now been changed to green. I really like the new change because its different (a lot of platinums have the gold banner) than the others. Also, I think it fits well with the colors of Peter Pan. What does everyone else think? Do you think this will be the final cover art, or do you predict another change before its release?
