What should I do with Lilo and Stitch?

Post by stitcharielbeast »

ok, so here's my problem, Lilo and Stitch stands as one of my favorite movies of all time and should be a very important part of my collection, however with the cosntant delays and seeming cancellation of the 2 disc special edition set here in region 1, I feel like i should just give it up and buy the dissapointing one disc version. Sure I could order the 2 disc from Europe but my dvd players don't play any other regions except for region 1.

what should I do? should i just go ahead and buy Lilo and Stitch here? or do I keep patient and just wait for the 2 disc that mgiht never even happen? or should i buy Lilo and Stitch now just to pacify myself and then just double dip later on?

with my luck they'll probably announce the 2 disc the very day i buy the one disc.

I have the one disc version, and I have to say it is pretty satisfying. I mean, it's not as expansive as the 2-Disc bonus materials, but none-the-less, it is a pretty good/packed disc. If you can't hold out, I'd say go for it. If you can, just wait for the 2-Disc, if it ever comes.

thanks for replying guys!

I play my dvd's in various players because I use them for work (i'm an animator, disney dvd's playing in the background motivate me) and a lot of them are region one only players. at home I play them on a bose system or an X-box.

I've also been thinking about getting the one disc being tired of waiting for the two disc set.

I'm also waiting on the 2 disc & getting tired of the wait. All the material's ready & you know it's coming someday but God knows when.

Of course, same thing goes for Spy Kids. Rodriguez has said he's finished recording long ago the commentary & features Plus they released a director's cut of the da@#ed movie during it's theatrical run. Why do some movies like Peter Pan get 3 releases (which I have no problem with especially since I lost my PP SE in Hurricane Charley) & others with everything ready to go sit on the back burner with one barebones release? Trying to figure out Disney's home video is absolutely an impossible task.

hmm....I wouldn't worry too much...they will announce it here on Ultimate Disney when the DVDs are going to be released...but why wouldn't you go for the single disc anyway, it's not like the two disc is much better(unless you're more interested in the features of the DVD which is most likely longer documentaries)... and I'm sure the Lilo and stitch DVD is going to come out sooner or later.....whenever that is.....
You shall run young buck and rest, no you can't stop, the adventure hasn't finished yet.

Hmm, its not like we have to get concerned about it though, the Lilo and Stitch SE is already avaliable for us here in Australia. The US will be one of the last places to get it.
Speaking of which, if you have a multi-regional player and can't wait 2-3 years for the Special Edition, I recommend buying it from Australia, its a great DVD, with an excellent Documentary and the teaser trailers are hilarious!!!
You can buy it here, and yes, they do post internationally:

And for some reason they are releasing a single disc edition here for $6 more. :?
