Shoot! I didn't decline the featured title when it was Dumbo's Big Top Edition, and so I just noticed that my debit card has been charged.
It's on it's way, but I don't want it (oh how I wish they'd send me emails about the featured title!!!!!). I thought I remembered reading about how you can just write on the package "refused" and it will ship directly back to the DMC. Has anyone done this and do you get your money back? I know that online it says that if it's returned you get your money back minus shipping, but I don't want to pay to ship it back myself if I don't have to.
Won't be making this mistake again! In two years with the club I've never done this before. Ugh.

For any mail, you can write "Refused- return to sender". I did that with Columbia House before. I'm assuming I got my money back... I'm not sure if you should contact DMC and let them know?
And, just a question about the club since I just joined- you don't have to keep your credit card on file, do you? Can you just enter it each time, or do they make you keep it on file so they can charge you for the featured title?
And, do the featured titles count as one of the 4 you have to buy? (I'm assuming yes, but you never know.)

Well since this site is, logically, perused by Disney employees, you can probably mark "return to sender" on it and get your money back, but they will probably charge you the shipping costs (at least).
If it was cheap why not keep it and give it to some child in your family for Christmas. One less thing to buy. Just an option.
As for keeping credit cards on file, they must if they just charged you for the DVD without requesting the number.
Most movie clubs keep cards on file so they can charge for Director's Choices, etc... They also need it if you don't honor your commitment to buy whatever DVDs you agreed to buy with the commitment on joining the club.

P.S. Just a friendly reminder. As I noted above, it's logical that Disney does have people monitor these boards so you have to be careful what you say.

Um I guess thanks for the friendly reminder? I don't care if Disney monitors this board or not. It was a simple question and something I had remembered reading. I didn't want to pay for my own shipping but I will pay for theirs, I understand it was my mistake. And even if I was talking about doing something specifically against their policy- how are they going to connect "MinnieMe" on "UltimateDisney.com" to who I really am? Seriously.JamesDFarrow wrote:Well since this site is, logically, perused by Disney employees, you can probably mark "return to sender" on it and get your money back, but they will probably charge you the shipping costs (at least).

As for "cheap"- featured titles are never cheap. It cost $25.90 for one DVD (that I already have an older version of). I just bought 6 DVDs on deepdiscount for less than that shipped.
And yes, they keep a CC number on file. If they don't have one on file, they send you an invoice. I knew that and wasn't the one that asked if they had one on file or not.
It was my mistake, and I'll happily pay the shipping fees. I just wanted to know if I could save myself the hassle of re-addressing and paying more shipping costs.

Yeah, I know. I read through the entire policy page last night before I posted. It says "send it back" for a refund minus shipping. My question was if I could "send it back" by just putting "refused" on the package.DisneyDVDFAN wrote:

I guess I'll just call DMC and see what they say. I had thought I had remembered someone posting you could do what I asked about, which is why I posted- I couldn't find it using the search engine.
Thanks for your help guys. If anyone else has ever actually had this happen to them - please tell me how it worked out. Thanks!

I had this happen to me a couple months ago and called them up and explained the problem and since I had been a good customer and usually refused on time they sent me a pre-paid return label and just threw it in a box and get credit for entire amount in a couple weeks. I used write that return to sender on book club I belonged to, but I did it this way since Disney was willing to send me out a pre-paid label

Yes, you can just write "Refuse. Return to Sender" on the package as long as you don't open it.
And, if you call them, they can switch it so that you do receive a feature title notification in your email and/or in the regular mail. That's what I have done and it makes it a lot easier.
