The Disney Awards!

Post by Simba3 »

Ok, I was thinking about Disney movies today and I came up with a really cool idea for making β€œThe Disney Awards”. It would be like an Oscar’s meets MTV Movie Awards style format covering all the Disney animated classics (theatrical releases). The awards would include Best Lead Male Performance (not necessarily human), Best Lead Female performance (not necessarily human), Best Supporting Male Performance (not necessarily human), Best Supporting Female Performance (not necessarily human), Best Kiss, Best Fight, Best Villain, Best on-screen duo, Best onscreen team (3 or more), and of course Best Picture. I figured there would be somewhere around 7 nominations per category (instead of the standard 5) since there is such a wide array of great Disney movies to choose from.
My only problem is that there are still a few (very few) Disney animated classics that I have not yet seen (only because I can not locate them). Also, I don’t think I would be able to help myself from being biased. I have seen a lot of people in these forums coming up with some really awesome and creative stuff such as: β€œThe Ultimate Disney DVD”, and β€œUltimate Box Sets” so I know there are some creative people in here that could help me out. Anyway, I thought whoever wanted to take it upon themselves to come up with the awards and nominees could post it here in this thread. Then, everyone can read he list of nominations and post a reply with their choice for the winners. I just thought it was a fun idea!! Who’s gonna help me?? (Please try yourself not to be biased toward a particular film favorite, or exclude a particular film non-favorite)

Voting for Disney Award Nominees

Post by Disney Duster »

WAIT, WAIT, WAIT! Shouldn't we VOTE for the nominees in the first place? We can do it Survivor Style! We could make Best Picture Survivor, Best Song Survivor, etc., only we narrow it down to 7 instead of 1 winner. Then every movie has a chance!!!!!! Don't you see, it's unfair for one person to decide the nominees!!!!

disney duster, give it up. do you think the grammies, etc have a survivor style decision? no. i think his nominees are perfect, although I personally think that Nala should be a LEAD actress because you did say the main love interest.... oh, and WHERE THE FRICK IS JASMINE?!?! but I'm past it.

Just let it be and vote like I am about to do.

Best Picture
Beauty and the Beast

Best Male Lead
Simba

Best Female Lead
Writein vote for Jasmine

Best Lead Duo
Tod and Copper

Best Male Supporting
Thumper

Best Female Supporting
Nala (but she should be in the lead females)

Best Supporting Duo
Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather

Best Villian
Scar

Best Kiss
Lady and the Tramp

Best Fight
Prince Phillip vs Maleficent

Best New Age Score
The Little Mermaid

Best Classic Score
Cinderella

After finally voting and reading these... mabye there should be a discussion or something... you have some major people missing, or in the wrong categories.

Nala is a main character for example, and Jasmine is a MAJORLY important character which you left out.

I'll come back to see if you fixed this

i came back like i promised and you didnt post anything!!!! come on, this is a really cool idea. i am agreeing more and more with disney duster every day that there should be SOME debate about it....

but not a survivor type thing unless disney duster himself wants to do it all LOL

Ok sorry, I did add Jasmine to Best Lead Character (Female) and I will admit that I did overlook her. However, I kept Nala in the supporting female category because (though I do agree she is an instrumental character) her screen time is limited, and I feel her role is more supporting.
