The only reason why I'll double dip on this is if it's a reasonable price and if I like the artwork. Probably get two or three and sell them later when they go OOP. But maybe not since people will probably just get the 2 disc or one disc instead since it cost way less.

It means that after 7 weeks, Disney will not produce the title, anymore. However, until a retailer runs out of stock, you will still be able to buy it. Bambi II went into the vault after a few short weeks, yet, it can still be found at some retailers, because they haven't run out of their stock, yet.

yep that isslave2moonlight wrote:Wow! I still need to get some form of this movie! I'd like to have it to watch at Christmastime, but I have so many impending releases to get and so little fundage! I also want King Kong still, which I believe is also getting a special, multi-disc rerelease!
A thread for ALL things NARNIA
(By the way, I searched for a Narnia thread and coulnd't find one, so my apologies if one already exists.)
I wanted to make a place to discuss all things Narnia. The first movie in the series "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" was amazing, and also wildly successful. The next film in the series (theatrically speaking) is "Prince Caspian". If my memory serves me correctly, this is the only other book in which the 4 Prevensie children all appear. This was one of the best of the 7 books (in my opinion) so I am excited to see how this movie turns out, and the entire series for that matter.
Does anyone have any news on the upcoming "Prince Caspian"?
I am also very excited about the new 4-disc collectors edition of "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" coming out on December 12. At first I was a little annoyed by the news, seeming how I how I already purchased the 2-disc collectors edition. However, there are some incentives in picking up the new edition. Amazon.com is stating that it includes a $10 mail in rebate for those who already have the original release, and also the movie is worth a whopping 150 points in the Disney movie rewards program. According to Amazon, this is how the DVD will be set up:
Disc 1: Extended motion picture with additional scenes and features
Disc 2: Two Worlds of Narnia featurettes
Disc 3: C.S. Lewis: Dreamer of Narnia - All-new feature-length film about the man who created Narnia
Disc 4: Visualizing The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe: The Complete Production Experience
Collectible 10-page companion guide
Certificate of authenticity
$10 mail-in rebate for previous owners to upgrade
I think this collectors edition is going to be a must have for Narnia fans. Plus, I believe I heard it is going back into the vault in January of 2007, so if you want to get it, you'd better get it right away.

I'm not sure I'll buy the extended edition. I'd like to rent it beforehand, but that's not very likely to happen. Since I'm not a rich attorney*, I probably won't be able to afford it along with all the other stuff I want. Quite the conundrum, since I'm dying to see it.
P.S. I went to MGM the other day and the Journey Into Narnia attraction closed. Is that permanent or was it just for the day? Does anyone know?
Cheers,
JM

how would you prove that you already had the item? Is that what those funky "Proof of Purchase" tabs are for?
+ I mean, if you have the 2 disc, that's pretty extensive...
Disc 1: Extended motion picture with additional scenes and features
* its always the additional scenes that make me wary. Are these scenes just filler, or do they really really enhance the enjoyablity of this very enjoyable film. more times then naught its really just filler scenes that you wouldn't have missed.
Disc 2: Two Worlds of Narnia featurettes
*I do like featureettes LOL. but i wonder if it is the same as the ones that came with the 2 disc.
Disc 3: C.S. Lewis: Dreamer of Narnia - All-new feature-length film about the man who created Narnia & Disc 4: Visualizing The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe: The Complete Production Experience
Okay those sound cool

$83?? Where did you get that number?? Amazon.com has it listed for $30 dollars, and I'm sure the first day at Best Buy or Circuit City will be roughly the same.lapniappe wrote:it sounds really tempting now. but 83 dollars....+tax even -the 10 percent is v. expensive.

Amazon.ca are really out of whack with their prices. Amazon.com has the gift set for $54.87 US. Canada is 50% higher. The Canadian dollar exchange has changed but Amazon.ca hasn't made any adjustments.
Do like I do and order from Amazon.com. Even with the exchange and shipping (and if you get caught by Customs and have to pay the Taxes, which you would pay in Canada anyway) it's cheaper. And if Customs doesn't catch it you don't get charged the taxes, you save even more.

I was at MGM three or four weeks ago and it was still open. I haven't heard that it was closing, and it seems strange they would close it before the holidays (since you basically walk into frozen Narnia......it's like Christmas at the Lamppost!)
Though I see no reason why it would be dark.........Except.....maybe.......During the attraction The Snow Queen comes and talks (which is a REAL PERSON
p.s. Her costume and makeup are cool.....I totally forgot that they had her as a face character until I was typing this
