DVD Cases (Where to buy them?)
DVD Cases (Where to buy them?)
Does anyone know of a good store that sells DVD cases? Can anyone also tell me what kind of case Snow White: PE, Atlantis: CE, and Emperor's New Groove: CE came in? (They're all the same). The case bigger than normal size with a side for the inserts but has a middle piece that holds the first disc and the end part of the case that holds the second disc. I'm trying to find a place to buy that case. Thanks.

I also would like to know if anyone knows of a place, even a website, where one can buy DVD cases to replace Disney 2-disc releases. My little sister's collection recently fell from 3 stories while moving out of her dorm! It seems that only the cases were damaged, but A LOT of them and badly. We replaced all of them except one of those cardboard type cases (Hose on Haunted Hill remake), and 3 that were 2-disc cases. The single disc cases were easy enough to find in a 10 pack at the local grocery and office stores, but the 2-disc cases have not been the right kind for the Disney releases. Her Beauty and the Beast case needs replacing, plus her 2 disc set of Queen music videos (similar case to Beauty and the Beast), PLUS a white 2-disc case for the Parent Trap Vault Disney release. Anyone know where we can get replacements for 2-disc releases like the Disney ones? Info would be extremely appreciated, thanks!

The cases that those movies came in (and many other Disney titles, including most of the Treasures) are Alphapak Doubles, and can be found here:Saito wrote:Does anyone know of a good store that sells DVD cases? That store is pretty good for media packaging needs, in general. I've got all my CD jewel cases there, as well, as it's almost impossible to find good-quality (basically, the same kind that actual music albums come in) ones in stores anymore.
Disney also uses Amaray (single and double) cases for many of their titles, including the Pixar films, the Fantasia Anthology, etc.

I dunno how availability is down there, but up here all anybody seems to sell are generic cases that are incredibly flimsy and made out of what seem to be the cheapest recycled plastics available. The construction attempts to imitate the branded cases (usually Amaray), but the hub design is always a dead giveaway. I've never seen any Alpha-type cases (branded or rip-off) up here, period. Fortunately, I don't need that many of either type, but I do keep about 15 of each type (Amaray, Alpha and Alpha double) in dark grey and 5 of each in white just in case I happen to need a replacement.dvdjunkie wrote:Most Radio Shack's, GameStop's, Electronic Boutique, and Used DVD stores will sell those cases at a cheaper price. I have bought the Amaray Double Disc cases for as little as 3 for $5 at my local Used DVD store.
