We never get anything compared to the States.
It made me laugh to think that we did.
The solution to every problem?
Buy it from America.
Or Japan.
My Japanese copy has about 4 little booklets all about
Little Mermaid, Cars, Cinderella 3, Peter Pan and random toys.
Not entirely necessary but the novelty of it being in Japanese is a good
conversation starter.
As for Greys Anatomy Season 2?
It's out in Australia in January 2007.
Oh yes, you read right.
The solution to every problem?
Buy it from America.
It's been out there for a month.
So you could have already known about Merideths BIG DECISION that
caps off the Season. Oooh.
Or you could just watch it on TV. Or wait another 3 months.
Or have the whole season set from America in less than a week?
Hmm... Decisions Decisions.

...and as i've said before, its not always the most economical choice. and if i'd known before I preordered TLM that it was going to be missing so much, maybe I would have, but hey, i didntHappyPug wrote: The solution to every problem?

Amazon sold me the Little Mermaid for $14.89 USD.
If I had opted for the 2 week shipping* it would have cost me $8 USD.
So thats $22.89 USD.
At the moment, that equals around $30.74 AUD.
With EzyDVD selling it for $32.83 plus whatever postage is that seems to come across as the least econimical way to buy it, as having bought the American version & been satisfied with its booklet content would have been the better option.
Apologies to everyone if they don't have the luxury of getting things from other countries like I do.
To avoid disappointment I suggest getting things from the States first.
I forget sometimes....
When it comes to my family & my happiness, money is of little concern.

( * or you can pay $30 like I did and have it in 2 days )

True, the US releases generally have Chapter Inserts which are desirable, but I don't think you should be upset to loose the other items.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Hear Hear!I don't actually see the attraction of missing out on promotional leaflets. They're only trying to sell you something.

Not once have I ever sat down, after having looked at it the day I got it,
and said "Hey kids, gather round & we'll read selections from our free
booklets we got in our Fox & The Hound 25th Anniversary!"
I have lost excitement from them since, listed on the back of the R1 Fantasia 2000, it says "Commemorative Booklet". And it was literally a
two page insert that had small Thumbnail Pictures of each section of Fantasia. And little else.
Hardly a booklet, much less Commemorative.
The most relevant part of the inserts are when they tell you dates for upcoming editions. Such as Peter Pan and the Snow White BluRay in 2008. Interesting and chat worthy news like that.

hey good pickup on cost difference re Amazon/EzyDVD. Its a shame that not all DVDs are that cheap on Amazon or I'd definately pick up a lot more!
I hear what you guys are saying re the inserts being nothing special, BUT, to me, it just seems that little bit less real. As i've said before, I really really really do not understand why we are treated any differently here than in the US. I'm sure we'd appreciate the real thing here just as much as any person in America.

Australia's always been the dribbling Aunty that no one wants to visit at Christmas compared to the rest of the world.
I always read in the Herald that we "love technology" and "are full steam ahead with anything new"
But I think its because we're just trying to look like we can keep up with every other country.
As they get the best DVD releases regardless.
And Australia doesn't cos the distributors don't even bother trying to sell it.
JB HiFi does occaisonally try to be "exclusive" when they just import
UK Slipcase Editions & try to make them sound exclusive.
While over in the UK they're sipping their Earl Grey in their Country Gardens & chuckling as to why anyone would want such a Slipcover on their Corpse Bride DVD. To them, a slipcase is as common as muck, and usually about 4 times the price of our DVDs. Crazy Pounds.
Japan just does oversized boxsets of things cos they sell regardless.
Heck every street corner has Mobile Phone hangers because they sell regardless of how useless they are. We noticed lack lustre films like
The Aristocats and Robin Hood in shiny cardboard slipcases. At least here in Australia we know no one wants those movies, but in Japan hey they make a slipcase and it looks a bit more exciting because they can.
Because of the DVD companies not caring, ( and to a lesser extent the uptight squares at the Classification Board ) Australia will always be the Tag-A-Long friend that no one really invites to the party, try to sound cool with their 'exclusive tins', but really just end up having nothing special on offer & end up having to walk home by themselves because their mum is drunk on the patio after a hard day working at the RSL

In short...Once you buy American DVDs, you'll never go back.
Oh come on guys! I can understand that your pissed off, but in Germany we get not even two Discs, like we get just one disc when Snow White was issued! We get never booklets and for a long time we get not even a chapter index. I have never seen slip cases on any of our DVDs and sometimes we have much less extras, like absent audio commentaries or something like that. The only things we get always are the kiddie-games!
But in consideration of the fact that Disney had nothing to change except the regionalcode for the Aussie-DVDs, you're right- Buena Vista sucks!

That's so true!! Australia is not treated the crappiliest (is that a word?
 )
Just think of all the European countries only getting one disc editions of TLM and as Scamander pointed out SWatSD (with new horrible dubbings!!).
Also, the German FatH release will only be a reissue of the old one, they'll just repackage the old discs that they had not sold yet when it went out of print. No new transfer, no new bonuses!!
Europe (except France) gets even crappier releases.

Well so far only the trendy Slipcover.
Plus some booklets that have Cars merchandise.
But when you first play the movie its over dubbed in Japanese so
you can dance around the house to Fathoms Below in Japanese.
A simple press of the Audio/Language button pops it back onto English then everyone is happy.
As for bonus Materials its the same as the states except a couple of the trailers are narrated by a lovely Japanese woman.
But you know what movies they are so it doesn't really matter.

Even though I was told it was the last week of January by Buena Vista.
STRANGE!
