Post by Kenai »

With the sudden and most welcome of Disney's TV toons debuting on DVD lately, does anyone think Bonkers will make a debut sometime in the future?

Disney will probably release the first volume which won't sell well and then go in limbo like Gargoyles.

yea, it wasn't the most popular of the disney afternoon series, but certainly well-known enough to sell some I'd assume since they're releasing gummi bears this fall, and have already released the more popular disney afternon titles, bonkers shouldn't be too far behind.

There is always a chance that Bonkers or any tv show made by disney will come to DVD... However it is up to Disney to act upon that chance. Also does anyone remember the show Marsupilami?

Yes, I remember Marsupilami it was a spin-off of Raw Toonage...along with Bonkers yes Bonkers character was first on Raw Toonage on CBS back in the early 90's.

I have a large, plush Marsupilami from Disney/Applause. I really liked that show and Bonkers (all those old Disney TV shows, really). Raw Toonage was a weird one. I didn't get to see it until they were rerunning it on Disney Channel, and at that point I think they may have changed it a bit. I really funny Disney show was Shnookums and Meat. I hope all that stuff comes to DVD. I really need to get that second edition of Gargoyles, but I haven't been able to afford it. Hope they eventually decide to put out the rest of it. I think the sales would have been better if season 2 had been complete. I don't like it when they release season 2 part 1, and stuff like that. I've managed to get all the other Disney Afternoon releases so far, but I don't know what I'm going to do this holiday season, with 4 new Disney Tresures, 4 Disney Legacies, and the 3 new Disney Afternoon DVD sets... I know the Treasures will be top priority, then Disney Afternoon shows, but I want all that stuff and I'm going through a petty cash drought right now...

I'd love it and I'd, of course, buy it. If the fans buy the available sets (Chip 'n Dale, Ducktales, Talespin, Darkwing Duck and Gargoyles) Disney will release all the series because they are looking for profit. Go ahead buy, and buy, and buy.

Yeah, I remember Bonkers. According to TV.com, it lasted for five seasons, totalling an episode count of 64 episodes. I liked it, I would buy the set if it were released here in Australia. Marsupilami was good as well. According to TV.com, it lasted for one season, totalling an episode count of 13 episodes. That's not very good, but I can still see a fan base that would buy the DVD of it. Raw Toonage lasted for one season, and 12 episodes, which is weird, considering it's spin-offs lasted longer than it. Does Disney have the rights to all of these shows? And would they release all of them?
