Well, why did Williams return to do the Genie in Aladdin and the King of Thieves.

Why did James Earl Jones return for The Sandlot 2?(which was made by the same company, and was a film with the majority of the cast played by kids, but replaced them with new actors, making me believe the same will happen to this.

It's official! Here's the artwork:

It was just posted a few minutes ago on amazon. I searched it about 30 minutes ago and it wasn't there, but now it's up!

Is anybody getting sick of them using this picture for EVERY release they've ever had?!?!

I'm guessing this is the bilingual Canadian packaging, which displays the English and French titles (Mrs. Doubtfire and Mme Doubtfire).

Nice to see this is actually happening, hoping the specs turn up soon on Amazon. The 1999 Disc had the following, which I hope will be ported over, along with some new stuff (like a cohesive making-of featurette)

Director's Commentary

30 minutes of deleted scenes

On-camera interviews with Robin Williams, Pierce Brosnan, Harvey Fierstein, Chris Columbus, animator Chuck Jones - I read that this is just an 8-minute fluffy EPK piece, so hopefully it'll be improved upon in the new disc

Behind-the-scenes footage of make-up tests and application

Storyboards and animation pencil tests

Trailers and TV Spots

Man, for a blockbuster movie like this, you wouldn't think you'd have to try to dig up details on it. You sort of expect the studio to make them known. Well, if it's really coming on 10/17, that 13,009 sales rank has gotta hurt some sense into them.

Would be fun if they had a lenticular cover that shows Robin Williams as both Daniel and Mrs. Doubtfire. Kinda like the lenticular slipcover for Transamerica, that transforms Bree Osbourne into Felicity Huffman.

Ew, I know this is off-topic, but my friend pretty much forced me to watch this movie and it is the most disturbing thing I've ever seen! I'm scarred for life!

But I agree about the artwork. That would be a neat idea for them to consider.

I'm so excited. I missed my chance to get Mrs. Doubtfire on DVD the first time around and I'm glad for the animorphic transfer. I also hope the extras are at least ported over, if not new ones added. But doubtfull seeing as there has been no advertising at all for this release. Fox must assume it's a big enough movie to just sell itself. I mean, if I was at Best Buy to buy something else and saw this I would buy it on the spot.

As for "Transamerica," I would love for artwork like that. And as for the film itself, while having very disturbing and hard to watch scenes, I thought it was excellent. It was unconventional in every sense which made it very refreshing and also pretty damn funny. I did have a hard time with the male prostitution scene, though. I also liked how open and optimistic the ending was. And I'm still laughing at the way Felicity Haughman said the word "Cowabungholes." ha ha ha.

I'll leave people to their opinions about Transamerica. I found it nowhere near disturbing or scarring-for-life. It's one of the best films of 2005/2006, and if transgendered people are a bother to you, then I'm sorry, because you're missing out on a touching story about acceptance and respect for one's life choices.

I agree, Escapay. I thought "Transamerica" was an amazing film and Felicity Haufman deserved to win best actress for her role. It really opened my eyes to the world of transgendered people. I do see where many people would find the film disturbing, though. I personally found it hard to take the scene where the boy is reunited with his step father and the prostetution at the diner scene. But as a whole, I thought the film was incredible and full of subtle nuances that were hilareous. It's a wonderful film and I highly reccomend it.

Yeah, the hardest scene for me to watch was with Bree and his mother, when she asks if he got it done yet, then grabs his crotch. Then he puts her arm on his breast, and the mother just starts crying. I felt so bad for both Bree and the mother, because Bree knew that his mother couldn't accept him, and the mother was "losing" her son...

Did the new release of Mrs. Doubtfire on DVD happen? I see that it is supposed to be available, today, but, I haven't seen any advertisements, nor do online stores have it in stock. For example, Best Buy has it listed for $14.99, but, states that it is backordered for 1-2 weeks.

Same with Amazon. One listing says in stock but the other says it'll ship in 7-13 days.

Was at Target today, didn't see it on the shelves.

I'll check Wal-Mart later this week, if possible.

Otherwise, I'll just risk ordering it online and hoping it comes in.

This DVD looks to me like the previous DVD release in a brand new slipcover. Fox does this all the time. They are doing one right now where some movies are in a blue slipcover, I saw them at Wal-Mart. Same with their Academy Award winners, they added slipcovers to them. I might be wrong, but I think its just the previous release in a holiday slipcover.

Poo.

That means while it retains the likable amount of bonus features, it'll still be non-anamorphic.

DAMN YOU FOX!

Oh well. At least we know it'll eventually get a brand-spankin' new release to coincide with Mrs. Doubtfire 2. Don't care what's on it so long as it'll be anamorphic.
