The Disney Movie Rewards Discussion & Information Thread

Post by becko »

I can honestly say that I am very dissapointed in this new program- I was hoping for something more like the old mail in certificates. Each movie looks to be worth about 100 pts and rewards start at 400 pts. What I was most dissapointed with was the fact that the lowest rewards are things like movie posters. Nice, yes, but in exchange for buying 4 disney DVD's? I'm not sure about that. What does everyone else think so far?

The only thing that intrest me was the Zorro DVD's Volume 1-5 for 2,200 points and some statues but at 2,000 points +.

What happen if we buy 2 TLM can we put both points for it because it won't let me it keeps saying you have the maximum points for TLM.

I was looking at it today and signed up of course, I mean free stuff is free stuff. I also have no idea how the old rewards worked. But they did have the Walt Disney Classics Collection which I collect, they are a lot of point but hey I buy the Disney Dvds any ways so they are free. I am sure the longer the program is out the better it will get. They just started so they don't really have any customer feedback to see what people think... I would say give it time it will probably get better and if it doesn't at least they give you some sort of reward for buying there movies!

I like the idea of the program, but I agree that it's disappointing that there are hardly any Disney DVDs in the rewards selection (just the Zorro set) and that it takes so many points to get them, while it used to be you could get a free movie by purchasing... what... 3...4 films? I don't remember, but it was much less!

There are items that interest me greatly, although there could be more. I don't know much about mp3 players, but I wonder if the ones they have there are any good, because they're starting to interest me. I'm probably interested in the Zorro DVD set more than anything, but I also really love the sculptures, especially the Disney Classics collection ones. I signed up for the Classics collection when it first started, and I got the first sculpture, Jiminy Cricket, which was free for joining, but I never have gotten another of the sculptures since, nor did I renew my subscription (in fact, they short-changed me one magazine), because I just couldn't afford the sculptures (was just a kid at the time). Still can't afford them yet, not often enough to collect them anyway, not while collecting DVDs too, so it would be cool to get some this way (and off Ebay of course, I want that Slue Foot Sue so badly, and they need to make Katrina Van Tassel). Anyway, as I was saying, there are a few items like that that I want, but they take sooooo many points to get, that they will most likely be sold out of them before I get any... Everyone seems to want the Zorro set, for example. I really wish they had a full selection of DVDs on there! I have missed many releases since Atlantis 2, and it would be a nice way to catch up. And, they really should only cost a few hundred points, to match up with their old free DVD offers.

Okay.

By the way, Princessmarlo, I like your Snow White picture (though I'm mainly an Ariel and Tink man, ha).

I'm just greatful Disney is giving something back to us. I find the catagories and point system to be out of whack, though. In the same point class as a tour of the Disney Studios, you can also get a Mickey Mouse pin set? lol. And posters vs. mp3 players? It all seems really hodge podged. I also wonder if the Zorro set will be in a box, because they call it a box set and make it known that it comes from the DMC, but I own all 5 DVD's and if there is a box, they should let people who already have it buy a box to store it all for $5 or something... I'm anal and want a box. I'll be holding out for something in the higher point value like a pin set, WDCC figure, or possibly that tour of the studios if it's still around by the time I get that many points. lol. I should have 1050 by December. lol. (I get an extra 100 for taking the quiz)

Post by ZOOMBOOM0688 »

Hey, I was just wondering if any of you are going to join DISNEY MOVIE REWARDS it sounds like a really fun program and I'm excited. Do any of you know if you can enter two codes from the same DVD title, or, FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO BOUGHT MORE THAN ONE COPY, are they all the Same (FOR EXAMPLE LITTLE MERMAID codes the same?) THANX :D

You probably should have more than two choices here. I don't think it's simply a matter of like or dislike. I checked "Yes," but I do have a lot of complaints. Of course, I don't know why anyone wouldn't sign up for it. Free is free.

One thing I am glad of, if it's accurate, is that if you buy ten copies of the Little Mermaid, you still only get points for one copy. Most of us can't afford to do that, and we will never get anything good if people who buy multiple copies can get so many more points...

I think the idea is cool. I really want to get the custom Disney iPod cover from there. Does anybody know what designs they have to choose from?

there's a lithograph available for 400 points.

I already "Registered" my Little Mermaid points. And I'll be buying Cars, POTC, and a few other dvds......and they'll have points for Peter Pan, Robin Hood, Jungle Books..........

Its a good idea in theory......as long as they pay the shipping and don't make you send that little upc tab from the dvd keep case, right?
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

I think it's just Jack Sparrow, and you can buy it at Wal Mart for $4.99. lol. That's the only one I've seen that is Disney. Also, it was only for the nano.

It's not a bad thing, since you can earn your way to some decent rewards. I, too, am sad to see that there aren't any Disney Animated Classic DVD's available. I was hoping it would be something like the old reward system, where you bought three DVD's and could choose one free DVD from a list of titles.

At any rate, there are some things I would like to get, and since I collect Disney DVD's, it will be pretty easy.

When I signed up, before entering my code, I was asked to take a quick survey. If I took it, I could earn 100 Bonus Points. So, I did. It was quick and painless. So, now I have 200 points in my account!

I did the survey also, hey a extra 100 points is 100 points and the survery was really basic and fast. Hopefully they will do more surveys about the company because if they do I will definitely do them. I think it was the simplest survey I have ever taken plus it is so much better taking ones when you actually like the products they are talking about!

I really liked the section of the survey where they asked what future Disney titles you are most excited about. Pan was a 5 for me. lol. I hope future surveys involve that kind of stuff.

I would assume that if your countries copy of "The Little Mermaid" didn't have anything about it, then you do need to be in the U.S. or Canada to join. Unless you import lots of DVD's from there, it wouldn't make since to join since you need the DVD's to do that. However, if you know someone in the US, you could use their address to participate and pay them to mail your gift to you when it arrives.

You know when I was looking through the titles that were eligable it kind of irritated me that High School Musical Remix and The Cheetah Girls 2 were listed but not Wendy Wu... They could give you at least 50 points. I also didn't see Ducktales Vol 2 or Chip n Dale Vol 2. You would think they would give your point for those since they are more expensive then regualr dvds. Also Gummi Bears. Are there any titles that you think should be listed that aren't?

I have 100 points for TLM, and I completed the survey for my dad, so I'll be getting 100 more points for doing that. I defenitly want the TLM Orignal Poster for 1300 points. Once I get enough, I think I'll get that, unless there isn't enought stock left. In all, I will have about 400 more points (TF&tH, RH, PotC2, & TF&tH2) by the end of the year. In total 500 points, almost half-way to getting that TLM Poster. I suspect that Cindy III and PP will be 100 points each, so that will be 700 points all together. That's more than half! I'm so excited for this program. Getting stuff for buy Disney movies :D
