has anyone noticed the new disney channel logo?

Post by Kyle »

its so distracting. I mean, Ive always felt that disney has had the most distractive channel logo of all the networks, but they managed to top themselves with this spider webbing I think.

I know its only for the month of October (thankfully), but still. why do channels always feel the need to pollute our channels with this crap? I hope they eventually redesign the disney channel logo, maybe something with, dare I say it, without the mickey ears. I know its sort of a staple of the channel, but the shape just doesn't lend it self well to something like this. unless they can find a way to make it smaller, they need to find something else to use.

They could easily make it smaller, and that's the real problem. Taking away the Mouse ears would be a BIG mistake. But, getting to the October logo, I greatly appreciate how much they are getting into the Halloween spirit this year on the Disney Channel, but I definitely noticed how distracting this new webbed logo is! I mean, it takes up almost a quarter of the screen! Terrible...

Because they think we're stupid and don't remember what channel we're watching.

This is the latest I've been up in ages (especially on a school night), but I can't sleep and was actually watching The Little Mermaid, as you were Kyle. lol. It brought back memories. I haven't seen the series in years. Anyways, what I think is worse than the channel logo in the corner is the fact that a spider drops down from the upper left to form it, and then the bottom tells you what you are watching, or what is coming up soon, and the spider crawls across it to the right and dissapears. I would have thought this was neat as a kid I'm sure, but it was pretty distracting.

The only thing that distracted me while watching yesterday was the descending spider.

I noticed it at the same point during the East- and West-coast feeds of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, but that's it.

When I was watching Halloween Town yesterday that spider interrupted my movie but for a moment I thought it was part of the movie. Kind of like the cobweb idea on the Mickey ears.

Ugh...station bugs! I hate, hate, hate 'em, especially when they're animated and/or have sound. I only find them useful when I'm at a hotel in another city.

we got no Disney Channel in the Czech Republic. And we really would love to have our own version. So guess what is my opinion about topics like this one about a logo. :x

Why does it matter? Just learn to ignore it. That's what I do. If it bothers me, it bothers me. There isn't much that I, or anyone else, can do about it. So just live on with your lives, and if the spider is really bothering you, just change the channel.

we shouldnt have to put up with this though. the more we learn to ignore these bugs, the more they will do to them to grab our attention.
it wasnt nearly this bad 10 years ago when it came to animated bugs. they were really far and few betewwn. nowadays on channels like abc family they make animated banners with sound that cover almost half the screen for about 20 seconds. they need to save this stuff for commercial breaks only, and leave actual programing untouched as much as possible.

Yes! We are talking about descending quality, and the more slack you give, the more they will take! We are paying for cable TV (or whatever other service we have), after all, and they really need to limit the advertising and annoyances. After all, there was a time when there were no station bugs at all! They ought to be able to keep them within some sort of regulated guidelines. Having them completely disrupt the program is ridiculous. We're paying to see the shows and movies, not the bugs. What's worse is when they do full on commercials for their other shows in the corner or at the bottom while you're watching a show. It's really outrageous! Another thing I hate is when they have streaming info at the bottom during a show, like their little .com polls and things. Disney is terrible about this and probably were the first to do it! Shout outs and crap like that, most of which are totally silly.

The most distracting recent bugs to me were the Yin Yang Yo bars that took up almost the all the bottom-third of the screen on Toon Disney. I think I have them on some of the Aladdin episodes I've taped.
