Musicians on the Forums

Post by TheSequelOfDisney »

Are there any musicians here? I've been putting off putting this on the forums, so I just finally decided to post.

I play the clarinet, naturally, and I'm TRYING to teach myself how to play the guitar, but it really isn't working

I was in marching band and I played clarinet. Also in symphonic band I played bassoon and I also play the drum set. I want to get my own Fender Stratocaster and amp but that'll probably be after I move out of my parents house. ;)

I was in Marching, Symphonic, and Pep Band during high school. Played the Alto Sax for 5 years and the Tenor Sax for 3. After school I basically quit. I still have my Alto though. My Junior year we were part of the Epcot parade. It was a parade that involved different bands. We were invited to attend after sending in some information about our Marching Band. I think there were around 211 members in the Marching Band that made the trip. Had a great time.

Tryed to learn guitar on my own a few years ago. Didn't amount to much though.

I've been playing the violin for 7 years now. You can imagine why I joined Orchestra in High School, living in California. Yup, not for the Concert at Carnegie Hall in New York, but to go to Disneyland (for free) with all your friends and not have any of your parents tagging along.

Woodwind players are more talented than brass players. Yeah that's right!!! :P

However, clarinet, bassoon, oboe and sax players look offley funny with those reeds sticking out of their mouths. ;)

That would just be the bassoon and oboe. The clarinet has a reed that stays on the mouthpiece (while playing), same as a saxaphone.

No, you gotta wet it down before you play or you'll sound like a dead baby giraffe. But yes once after you wet it down you don't have to worry about it again except for oboes and bassoons.

Oh, when you wet the reed. I didn't know what you were talking about! Yeah, and when you try to talk, I don't think anyone can understand you!
