memorable songs from country music luminaries Reba McEntire and Trisha Yearwood, boasting a celebrity
cast featuring Patrick Swayze and comedian Jeff Foxworthy, filled with Disney’s renowned rich animation, and
offering interactive and entertaining bonus features, <b>THE FOX AND THE HOUND 2</b> premieres on Disney DVD

<b>THE FOX AND THE HOUND 2</b> is a timeless, tune-filled tale of enduring relationships, delivering the simple,
yet powerful message that true bonds run deep and genuine friendships can’t be broken. A perfect
complement to Disney’s original classic, this heartwarming story finds playful pals Copper and Tod, a hound
dog and a fox, still up to their mischievous ways. With Tod’s help, Copper seeks to find his greatest talent –
which leads to an adventure at the county fair. When talented diva Dixie (voiced by Reba McEntire) quits the
harmonizing novelty dog act, The Singin’ Strays, the stage door swings open for Copper to steal the spotlight
and join the band under the tutelage of its success-driven leader, Cash (Patrick Swayze, “<i>Ghost</i>” and “<i>Dirty
Dancing</i>”). But as Copper gleams in the limelight, Tod and Dixie quickly discover that playing second fiddle
isn’t their true calling – and they hatch a scheme to make things right again. As the plan goes awry with
disastrous results, everyone must bond together to bring harmony back to the mutual friendships, and fame
where it most belongs.

<b>THE FOX AND THE HOUND 2</b> stays true to Disney’s illustrious animated musical tradition with seven new
songs, including four featuring the celebrated vocals of McEntire and Yearwood. McEntire is an entertainment
phenomenon, complementing her amazing musical career (two Grammy Awards, seven Gold Albums, Five
Platinum Albums, 33 singles reaching No. 1 on the country charts over the past two decades) with starring
roles in television (“<i>Reba</i>”), the Broadway stage (“Annie Get Your Gun”) and numerous films. McEntire
performs on three songs in <b>THE FOX AND THE HOUND 2</b>: the scene-setting “We’re in Harmony,” the showstopping
“Good Doggie … No Bone!” and the heartfelt “We Go Together.” McEntire also turns in a tour-deforce
performance with her vocal portrayal of Dixie, an endearing canine who finally sees what she wants most
when she’s forced from the blinding spotlight.

As a three-time Grammy Award winner with 10 singles reaching No. 1 and one of the most successful
crossover superstars in music today, Yearwood offers her unforgettable vocals to the ballad “Blue Beyond.”
Joining McEntire and Yearwood on the exceptional soundtrack are <i>High School Musical</i> star Lucas Grabeel
belting out the toe-tapping end title song “You Know I Will,” award-winning up-and-comers Little Big Town
accompanying McEntire on “We Go Together,” and popular “<i>American Idol 2</i>” contestant Josh Gracin with the
whimsical “Hound Dude.”

Several notable songwriters have crafted the impressive <b>THE FOX AND THE HOUND 2</b> soundtrack. Grammy
Award-winner Gordon Kennedy (Eric Clapton’s “Change the World”) penned Yearwood’s beautiful song, “Blue
Beyond.” Kennedy’s solo work is joined by the contributions of two-time Grammy winner Marcus Hummon
(Dixie Chicks’ “Cowboy Take Me Away” & “Ready to Run,” Rascal Flatts’ “Bless the Broken Road”) and Will
Robinson (songwriter for Willie Nelson, Wynonna, Trace Adkins). Noted composer of live action and Disney
animated films Joel McNeely (“<i>Air Force One</i>,” “<i>Holes</i>,” “<i>Return to Neverland</i>”) provides the score for <b>THE FOX
AND THE HOUND 2</b>.

The homespun tale features a stellar voice cast beyond the contributions of McEntire and Swayze. Young
talents of Harrison Fahn (“<i>Tarzan II</i>”) and Jonah Bobo (“<i>Zathura: A Space Adventure</i>”) bring new life to the
adorable title characters as the voices of Copper and Tod, respectively. Actor/comedian Jeff Foxworthy (“<i>The
Jeff Foxworthy Show</i>,” “<i>Blue Collar TV</i>”) lends his natural country twang to Lyle, the banjo-picking human
owner of The Singing Strays. Carol Lawrence (“<i>Yes Dear</i>,” “<i>The Carol Burnett Show</i>”) supplies the voice of
Granny Rose, the eldest member of the crooning canines. Voiceover legends Jim Cummings, April Winchell,
Jeff Bennett and Russi Taylor create the remaining significant roles of the voice cast.

DVD bonus materials include “The Making of the Music” featurette spotlighting the vocal performances of Reba
McEntire and Trisha Yearwood; the “You Know I Will” music video spotlighting <i>High School Musical</i> star Lucas
Grabeel; “Mutt Mix Master,” an interactive musical mix session where the viewer controls the sounds and
effects in creating The Singin’ Strays’ latest hit recording; and a special animated classic short featuring

discovered The Singin’ Stays, needs your help. The canine singing group just recorded a song but the mixer
ran out – we guess he was fed up with working with animals. Using your on-screen Mix Master, help
Bickerstaff complete the recording as you control the studio mix session of The Singin’ Strays. All the guitars
and growls, all the barks and bass -- it’s under your command as you create a tail-thumping musical
performance. Use your remote to roll over different areas of the Mutt Mix Master and play different kinds of
barks at different levels to play a song. There is a simple set-top version and the deluxe DVD ROM version
which allows you to record up to four versions of your custom song mix.

"Big time animation?" Are they kidding?
Does anyone know if the song is good/bad?

The movie looks like a rehash of 101 Dalmatians II...

And do Patrick Swayze and Reba McIntire have nothing better to do?

Maybe there's more to be had behind this afterall. I mean the animation doesn't look that bad, it doesn't capture the original, but it doesn't look that bad so far. The story line sucks, i just can't pretend like i like it, i just don't. but i bet it's going to have some cute parts or something. I'm really hoping this will surprise me, because the past few DTV's havn't been that bad at all, and i just really don't want to feel let down. If i am, at least i'll have Cinderella III to look forward to, which is one i am very excited about!!!

I'm actually looking forward to The Fox and the Hound 2 now, the animation-quality looks great in the trailer, and following the excellent and recent Direct-To-Video features like Bambi 2 and Brother Bear 2, I'm sure it will be a hit, and stay faithful to its predecessor. However before I see it, I will have to re-visit the original Fox and the Hound, I haven't seen it since I was a kid!

From what I know of the sequel, I'd say Disney couldn't have departed further from the original film unless they set it in space. lol. The plot of the first film: an unlikely pair destined to become enemies go in an opposite direction and secretly become best friends, but are turned against each other and in the end, friendship triumphs. The plot of the second film: Todd and Copper's friendship is threatened by Copper becoming a member of an all dog country group... *cough* The animation style of the first film: realistic, yet artistic, backgrounds, earthy colors, realistic stylized animation. The animation style of the second film: cartoony backgrounds, bright TV show color schemes, Todd doesn't look as good as he did in the first films.

I don't hate DTVs and have been overall impressed with Disney Toon Studio's recent output, but this just looks bad to me. I don't think it is necessary to have another FATH film, especially a midquel with as dumbed down a plot as they could think of. It doesn't look like the same film at all. It looks too modernized, like 101 Dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure did. I'll rent it and give it a shot, but this may be the first DTV that I wont add to my collection (I have all of them thusfar because I used to blind buy them).

Why. Why can't Disney just leave the classics alone instead of coming up with lame story lines like this one? Most DTV sequels are not that good. They never will be.

I am really looking forward to The Fox and the Hound 2. It doesn't look that bad, as of animation quality, but the storyline is lacking a little. However, these downfalls don't hurt my opinion on this movie, so I can say that I WILL be getting this DVD. And it's not just because I want to place it next to my TFatH 25 AE DVD.

I don't think it looks that great, but look at it this way: little kids will more than likely LOVE this, and that means they will probably see the first movie. This keeps a classic in the minds of the next generation. Thats what I think these sequels are good for. I don't really think they are made with adults in mind.

Second off, I just gotted a chance to get a picture of the upcoming soundtrack for the movie "The Fox and the Hound 2" the sequel to teh original beloved Disney film "The Fox and the Hound".




It doesn't look that bad except it has just words and stuff, i was thinking when and if the soundtrack releases I want to make a contribution CD that relates or is not related to the movie sequel "The Fox and the Hound 2". You know like songs that remind me of the movie when it comes out on 12/12/06. I'm really ready to see this movie alot because I'm interested in seeing the character named Dixie (Reba McEntire) a talented diva-dog.

omg its no where near bambi 2!! Its actually not even as good as most disney sequals. the animation was good but the movie itself was kinda boring I thought..I bought it and probably wont watch it again at least not in the next year.
