Well, we've just returned from our trip to Hong Kong and the daily grind of work is already getting us down. Thankfully, we'll always have our memories as we bring you the first official HKDL Source trip report for our archives!
I relate all my tales of meeting characters, riding Space Mountain until I felt as though I was born in there and buying a Really Silly Hat.

Very nice web page Loomis! For some reason I thought HKDL had Cinderella's castle. I think it's really cool how they kept it small and simple, like in the original Disneyland. I'm used to WDW's towering Cinderella's Castle and was shocked on my first trip to Disneyland when the castle seemed so small, but it's, in my opinion, the most charming. The fireworks pictures look amazing! While HKDL doesn't seem to have enough attractions not available in the states to make me travel that far, I'm very interested in eventually going to Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris. Thanks for posting. I love seeing and reading about Disney's parks in other parts of the world.
Cool report! Sounds like the trip would have been worth it for that hotel room and best bathroom ever alone! Strange for three days to be plenty of time for a Disney park vacation. In my very few instances of visiting the US parks, it's always become somewhat of a race to get everything done by the end. Of course, by "get everything done", I mean "take in rides a second or third time", because that's just how I am.
Anyway, as I doubt I'll be visiting HK Disneyland anytime soon (if ever), your report was a very welcome source of vicarious vacationing. Glad to hear you had a swell time!

For Fiona (my girlfriend), I think it was! I'd never stayed in a Disney hotel before, and I'm not sure what other Disney hotels are like - they could be better for all I know - but eveything about it was phenomenal. I could have written a dedicated report just on the hotel, but I wanted to mention other stuff (like, you know, the park). Highly recommended if you are ever in the neighbourhood!
Yeah, I was really pleased with the way they came out. Plenty more where they came from, and as soon as we get our gallery section sorted on the site, I'll be able to upload some more and show off the park a bit.goofystitch wrote:The fireworks pictures look amazing! As for HKDL, I probably wouldn't say it is worth the trip to HK by itself - as you have two parks in the US and the Tokyo and Parisian parks are far and away 'better' parks - but there is plenty of other things to do in HK besides Disneyland, so it might be worth thinking about as a stopover.
Yes, but the planning for the next big trip - almost a year and a half away - has already begun.Chrissy31886 wrote:Thanks for the report! Sounds like you had a great time. Theres nothing worse than returning to work after a fun vacation
