Also, many DCOM stars have appeared in DC series. Stars from things like High School Musical, The Cheetah Girls, etc. have appeared in The Suite Life and That's So Raven. Nearly all of the people from HSM have been in The Suite Life, and Adriene Bailon has been in TSR as a bully, numerous times. Don't know if it counts thought. Oh, and that black dude from High School Musical will be in a DCOM of his own, called Jump.

Well, I think Annilese Van Der Pol is very good on "That's So Raven," but nearly everyone else I talk to doesn't like her. They think Chelsea is so unbelieveably dumb that she isn't funny. I personally think she is one of the highlights of the show. Now, I've never seen her in anything else, and the character Chelsea doesn't seem to often be put in situations that let us see any other signs of acting ability from her. It could be that she is just not a good actress and that Chelsea is the only character she is good at playing, or it could be that the general reaction from people is that they don't like Annilese. From what I've heard of her, she has a good singing voice. Better than Ashley Tisdale in my opinion. However, you don't see her doing a song for any Disney film, be it direct to video or theatrical. Since TSR bagan, Raven did a song for "The Lion King 1.5" and "The Haunted Mansion." Annilese was in the DCCoS music video's for "The Lion King" and "Cinderella," but hasn't been given her own music video. I'm just gonna assume that the general public doesn't respond to her well enough for Disney to put her in the lead role of a DCOM.

Goofystitch, I couldn't agree more.

And if you've ever seen the DCOM Stuck In The Suburbs, she has a song on its soundtrack called "I'm Over It." She was given a music video and it's a great song thanks to her great voice.

I have to agree with the folks who think her character is so dumb that it isn't funny. I mean, they make her dumber than the guys from Dumb and Dumber.

You’ve forgotten that Hannah Montana’s Mitchel Musso starred in Life Is Ruff. He portrayed Raymond Figg, Kyle Massey’s best friend, in the movie.

I don't thnik it's because Annilese is a bad actress. Because in the scenes where Raven and everyone have to be more, um, "dramatic" and heartfelt Annilese seems the most geuine while Raven and Orlando Brown seem sort of fake, even Brenda Song seems that way when she does more serious scenes.

I too love Annilese, she is great on the show, the show should almost be That's So Chelsea and still work.

Did anyone ever stop to think that maybe Anneliese probably doesn't *want* to be considered a Disney Channel girl? Like...maybe once her contract is through with Raven, she'd venture out into different non-Disney roles to expand her craft? Not every Disney actor stays with the company forever, and the ones that do probably choose to.

if that is the case, then I say good for her. Raven and Billy Ray Cyrus are enough to carry the Disney Channel right now. I really hope she makes it. I think she's great.

After which, is allegedly a spin-off about Raven in college, along with a Cory spin-off. Too much of the Baxter family on the Disney channel! Aauugghh! :shifty:

I miss the days when Disney channel produced single-camera shows that were not just cookie-cutter comedies. When can we see the likes of So Weird, Jett Jackson, and Even Stevens again?

Oy, another "is it or isn't it Disney?" based on who produced it dilemma!

You missed quite a few...lol though I think some don't count for the list you meant to make...
(bold added by Kram Nebuer ;-))
numba1lostboy wrote: Suite Life Of Zach And Cody
Brenda Song- The Ultimate Christmas Present (the best friend), Get A Clue, Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior

The Famous Jett Jackson
Lee Thompson Young - Johnny Tsunami (the best friend, Sam!)

So Weird
Patrick Levis - Brink!, Miracle in Lane 2 (Frankie Muniz's older brother)
Erik Von Detten- Escape to Witch Mountain (okay maybe doesn't count b/c it was WWoD), Brink!

Smart Guy
Jason Weaver - The Lion King (Young Simba's Singing voice), Summertime Switch (WWoD I think)

Boy Meets World
Rider Strong - Summertime Switch

Brotherly Love
Matt Lawrence- Horse Sense (he had a cameo)Jumping Ship
Andy Lawrence- Horse Sense, Jumping Ship, The Other Me, Going to the Mat

Even Stevens
Shia LeBouf- Tru Confessions, Hounded (he was the bully guy)
Tom Virtue (Steve Stevens) - Read It and Weep (the father)

Phil Of The Future
Kay Panabaker- Life is Ruff, Read It And Weep

That's So Raven
Raven- Cheetah Girls, Cheetah Girls 2, Zenon: Girl Of The 21st Century, Z3: The Zequel, Kim Possible: A Sitch in Time/So the Drama (best friend Monique!)
Orlando Brown- Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off Proud Family Movie (he was Sticky!)
Kyle Massey- Life Is Ruff
Anniliese Van Der Pol-??? (she did have a guest role on Kim Possible as a movie star playing Kim Possible)

Life with Derek
Shadia Simmons - The Color of Friendship, Zenon the Zequel

Movie Surfers
Lindsey Haun - The Color of Friendship
I'm pretty sure I missed a few others as well...

I think it's sad that Anneliese Van der Pol has to play such a dumb character. She really is a great actress and according to IMDB:
IMDB wrote: A graduate of the Musical Theater Program at The Orange County High School of the Arts, California, Anneliese (pronounced AH-na-LEE-zah) has already made an impressive mark in the world of entertainment. For her captivating performance as Eva Péron in the Buena Park Civic Theater production of Evita (1996), she not only won rave reviews from the Los Angeles Times but also earned a place in history as the the youngest actress - at the age of 15 - to play the role in a professional production. More recently, Anneliese starred as Laurey in Oklahoma! (1955) for Austin Musical Theater, and was nominated for Best Actress In a Musical.
I wish she'd release a CD or something because she does have a great voice. "Candle on the Water" was probably the best track on Disneymania4 because of her and it was new to the series and lesser known than most of the other covers. Also, in addition to "Over It" she also sang "A Day in the Sun" for the That's So Raven soundtrack.

Thanks Kram! I can't believe I forgot those.
I updated the list...but I left out the WWoD movies...since they're not DCOMs.
If anyone else can think of other DC stars that starred in other DCOMs.
From any TV show that was ever on DC.

That's all I can think of right now. I tend to block some movies from my mind after awhile...

Disney also didn't produce "Tales from Avonlea," yet they released the first season on DVD. "So Weird" is my all time favorite Disney Channel show. I really wish it would get a DVD release. With Disney Channel's shows, it seems like they come up with the idea, or buy ideas, and then send it to small companies to make the shows. I read about "Lizzie McGuire" and it seemed like Disney did most of the casting, with some input from Stan Rogow productions, and then kind of let them do their own thing. I read that the Disney executives had a lot of issues with the episode where Lizzie buys her first bra and they didn't want to air it, but the producers convinced them and it ended up being one of the top 10 rated episodes. Does that mean that "Lizzie McGure" was not made by Disney? I say that because Disney a.) started the show, b.) paid for the show, and c.) had input into the creation of each episode that it is Disney AND Stan Rogow. Same with the other shows. Disney created "So Weird," "Jett Jackson," and "Even Stevens" and then sent them to small production companies to be made. Disney owns them, Disney funded them, Disney helped create them. They are Disney. You could argue that "Avonlea," "Ready or Not," and "In a Hearbeat" are not Disney, however, because they are made by Canadian production companies and Disney buys the U.S. rights to them. The most recent Canadian bought shows on Disney Channel are "Naturally Sadie" and "Life With Derek."
