You're not alone. I've actually been considering eventually adding The Wild to my collection simply because officially it's being called an Animated Classic (even though I don't believe it is). It's a mental illness.

And then there are people who buy The Wild for the sole reason of thinking it was an ok movie, like me :D

Did the offer of free face paint not push you over the edge?! Get it bought and stick it on the shelf next to Chicken Little like the rest of us

I was thinking of getting the Region 1 Fox and the Hound: 25th Anniversary Edition. No release has yet been announced for Region 2, and it's sure a long way off because the old release is still in print. However, do you guys think I should wait for the Region 2 version for the sole reason that it may have the original theatrical aspect ratio?

Yes it has, March 2007

no it's not

It will have the exact same transfer as the R1.

Harumph! Then I might aswell get the Region 1 straight away and not wait till March. I may live in a Region 2 zone, but I'm not affected negatively as I have an NTSC compatible TV and a multi-regional DVD Player.

By the way, thanks for clearing up my errors ichabod. I suppose Dumbo will be released in 2007 aswell? If I want to get that one, I suppose the Region 1 version will - once more- suffice.

Probably not, Dumbo was released in April 2005 and is still in print, I don't see another release anytime soon.

Have you seen? The RRP for the single disc CARS is £21.99, the same as Disney's 2 disc sets.

Ah, I see Disney still has greed issues.

What exactly are window clings though?

And why hasn't Cars been given a 2 disc set? Wasn't it very successful at the box office. This must be the first Pixar film to get a single disc release. I know Toy Story and Toy Story 2 have only just got 2 discers, and I think A Bug's Life was initially just a single disc release, but it's been 2 discers all the way since for Pixar. Or is this some marketing gimmick so we all buy the single disc now and next year they'll release a 2 disc special edition?

Funny how the Cars DVD is actually £2 cheaper if you buy it with the window thingies than without them :D

12 discs? Looks like Cars and A Bugs Life are single disc releases. Why is A Bugs Life only one disc when a 2 disc version is available? Hu Noz?

No, is the simple answer.

But at a guess I would expect Peter Pan to be released around February 19th ish! :P

Actually, history proves the opposite when it comes to Disney's platinums in Spring. Both Bambi and Lady and the Tramp were released over here in the middle of February, a whole two weeks earlier than in the USA. :p
