Quick summary:
November 19 in America
$250
Wii Sports Included
One Wii-Mote, One Nunchaku
There's more though... in that Press Release, but that's the important stuff there. I was hoping for early to mid October, but I'll deal with this. Can't wait to pick up Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Trauma Center: Second Opinion at launch.
PS:
Conference was held in Japan earlier, so if you're there:
December 2 in Japan
25000 Yen (You guys make everything sound so expensive, Twenty five Thousand?!)
One Wii-Mote, One Nunchaku
Conference in Europe has yet to happen (September 15), so keep your eyes and ears open.

Thanks to all that offered to help with my Avatar...Starion, RJKD23 and cj!
thats awesome!!! its about time they released some more info. now if only they would set a date for twilight princess. (or did I miss that too?) I love nintendo, but theyre just too tight lipped for their own good.
Anywho, thanks for the news!

Anything that was announced for launch day is coming out Nov. 19, and Twilight Princess is included in that group.
I can't wait to see some videos from the various conferences. There is some cool functionality described in the NY Times article, but I'd like to see it in action.

$250? Not bad, but I'd prefer it at $200. I'm still debating which store to preorder it from...I'm thinking GameCrazy because I have a friend who works there.

That sounds ace! I hope we get the same bundle in England . The Wii price over here had better be under £200, or I will not be a happy bunny!
didn't Nintendo say that it would be under 200 dollars? Well at least it comes with a packin game.

Already preordered mine at Play.com
Yay thanks BonusMage , you've made my day. Still...December . £39 is pretty good for games though, ohhhh!!! I can't wait :D.
I pre ordered mine at Gamestation, I know some of the guys who work there, so I can be sure to get a copy of Zelda .
I dunno... I'm a little torn up inside. I was really hoping that I would only have to pay $200 for the system but whatever. I did start my job today so I will have money but it feels weird I've never paid more than $200 for a video game system. I do plan on buying Zelda on launch day though. Maybe I'll just wait until a price drop though. I'm still deciding.
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.
I haven't preordered yet, and I'm not sure that I will. I will be picking one up within the first few months its out. I'm a little disappointed with a few of the games not making it at launch, but at least Zelda is still a launch title.
I just hope the places that are taking preorders here don't make you get a bundle. Bundles were the only way to preorder a 360 last year, not sure on the Wii though since I haven't checked.

Has anyone pre ordered the system yet? I pre ordered mine on Monday, I'm 10th in line, and have been guaranteed a console! .
I'm going to get Zelda for sure, but I'd also like Red Steel too, we'll see what the money situation is though.
I watched the Europe Announcement live on the net, and refreshed play.com every minute after the date was announced. I think I preordered it the second it was available so I should get one.
I'm waiting for a definite list of launch games available, already ordered Zelda and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, but need to know when Smash Bros. and Super Mario Galaxy will be out.
I imagine I'll just be in line at Best Buy, the morning it goes on sale, to pick up my Wii. I just wish that Super Mario Galaxy were going to be a launch title. That game looks like it is going to rule. In fact, the folks at IGN.com are saying that it is ACE, just from the little bit that they have played.
I will most likely pick up The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I'll have to wait until a complete launch list is posted, to see what other titles I'll pick up.

Ace . Yeah I think Play.com work on a 'first come first served' basis so you should get one .
I think Play.com is popular for Wii orders, I'd rather get it from a shop though, not sure why
