Operator Assistance

During my break at work today I had to make a call. What happened after I placed the call is what this posting is all about. After three rings, my call was answered by an automated telephone operator. I do not like them at all! They are a waste of time, they use up & waste many minutes on a cell phone, & they're too much trouble to navigate compared to the old reliable human way. On the assumption that a company must incorporate an automated operator into their phone services, I think the caller should first be given a choice to either use their "Virtual Guide" or talk to a human "Service Representative"! What do you think? Thank You.---Bill
