True. I don't really mind it though. I actually didn't even notice how much snow there was until the last time I watched it...which was about two weeks ago.Billy Moon wrote:You know, you don't see people very well when it's really snowing a lot in real life, either.Prince Ali wrote:I was kidding to a point.

Hey guys, Disney has now posted the Aspect Ratio for TFATH 25th Aniversary Ed....they posted it as 1.33:1....here's the link: Clicky.
So, I'm guessing this DVD won't answer our burning question about its OAR....but I guess being that Disney's releasing it in 1.33:1 again, that it really was in fullscreen....
Oh, and I've been thinking about something for a while; Do you guys think there is any chance of this being a 2-Disk release? (I'm thinking no, especially after Dumbo, Tarzan, and TENG...)

Considering the bonus features for this DVD add up to a grand total of about 14 seconds I'd say there's more chance of Song of the South appearing on shelves across the US next Tuesday than this being 2 discs!brotherbear wrote:Oh, and I've been thinking about something for a while; Do you guys think there is any chance of this being a 2-Disk release? Haven't we known that this was going to be released in Fullscreen for a while now?brotherbear wrote:Hey guys, Disney has now posted the Aspect Ratio for TFATH 25th Aniversary Ed....they posted it as 1.33:1....here's the link: Clicky.
As for this being a two-discer, I'm afraid not.

Where was this said? Also, why haven't they advertised it yet?Pasta67 wrote:There is a music video, remember? It's already been said that Lucas Grabeel recorded a music video for TF&tH's re-release.BATBfan1 wrote:Also, there is still no sign of a music video. By know we would have word on it, we still don't
They did the same thing with LATT II Special Edition, they said a new music video and then cut it out the last minute.

I have a thought about the OAR of TF&tH. Maybe Disney was experimenting 1.66:1 AR for The Rescuers. And then went back to 1.33:1 AR for TF&tH, because they found it easier. Just look at LatT and SB. They were experimenting with the widescreen ARs, and then went back to doing movies in 1.33:1 AR. Then again, I wouldn't know why they would just make 1 movie in 1.33:1, and then make TBC in a 2.20:1 AR, and then make the rest of the movies in 1.66:1. Well, I guess I found a flaw in my theory, but it's a theory none-the-less. At least it's a possibility.

Did anyone read this ^?
Just a question. I kinda wanna know what everyone thinks of my flawed theory that I came up with. Just bumping up a thread that seems, to me, to be important.

Well, you gotta think about the time period as well. In the 1950s, television was gaining prominence, so studios started to come up with ways to get people to still go to the theatre, and one was was to make movies in the widescreen image, thus giving viewers something that a television couldn't. And I'm guessing that by the 1960s, it had evened out between television and the movie theatres, so having a movie in widescreen wasn't necessarily the big draw anymore. And, of course, the post-Sleeping Beauty films were matted in theatres, despite being animated in 1.33:1. It just wasn't *necessary* (for lack of a better word) for animation to be in such a wide aspect ratio anymore, unless the story suggests it (which is why Black Cauldron was a 2.20:1 AR)TheSequelofDisney wrote:Just look at LatT and SB. And, of course, 1.66:1 became a sort of default AR for animated films, especially when they introduced the CAPS system.
I was watching TF&TH last night with Kram and a friend of his, and for the first time noticed just how...contained each scene is. I was only half-watching, as I was really just lying there staring into space, but I could see that some scenes look P&S, while others could possibly be open-matte. Still, even though many of us have reached several conclusions, the AR question of F&H will likely never be resolved unless some animator comes out and says, "It was in (this aspect ratio)! Okay?! Leave us alone now!"

I've decided that I will be upgrading from my Gold Collection version. This movie, a long with The Lion King, is my second favorite AC (the first being The Little Mermaid and Aladdin). I absolutely DISPISE the video and audio on the Gold Collection DVD and would also like to own a copy of this movie with some bonus features, even if there aren't many...and no, full color disc art is NOT a bonus feature!

Has anyone gotten an early issue of this yet? I was wondering/hoping that the theatrical trailer was ported over from the GC release and was just not mentioned on the press release. I know this is wishful thinking, but that would make this upgrade a no brainer. Ugh!!!
