No Insert in Rescuers DVD
I ordered The Rescuers from Amazon.com and got it today, but there is no insert inside, just a coupon for a $5.00 rebate for people who already own the vhs....blah blah. Anyway...did any one else get an insert?

No insert in any copies since Disney is slacking off and only puting inserts in what they consider their A-list titles (Rescuers isn't one.) Nothing in Love Bug either. There's a couple older threads covering this.

The ones on the A-list are usually the biggest hits, so it's safe to assume that all of the Platinums and Sleeping Beauty will have inserts, and Finding Nemo.
I'd hope Holes is worthy of an insert in there eyes too, but doubt it -- Lizzie McGuire Movie is also a question mark. The Walt Disney Treasures should probably continue to have inserts as well, but I have to wonder about the September 2 titles - the three Special Editions would seem obvious but after the reports that "The Love Bug" and some copies of "20k Leagues" are lacking them, I doubt it. I hope Toaster has an insert but can't tell if it will or not.

It is really becoming a sad state of affairs when we have to hope that our dvds will come with inserts. Not only Disney (and Miramax/Dimension), but Universal has also discontinued inserts on some titles...
What are the companies thinking?

"The Jungle Book 2" comes without an insert, and mine came without the advertised free child's admission ticket to "Finding Nemo".
"The Love Bug", despite being a 2-disc Special Edition, has NO insert either.

Haven't seen any inserts in the Aussie Disney DVDs for a while either.
I don't have a problem with lack of inserts per se.
But it is fun sometimes to check out booklets and things.
However, the main thing I want is a chapter listing with chapter titles.
If I have this on the inside of the DVD case, I'm happy.
However, some companies are not even doing this anymore.
Take for example the local release of 'Spirited Away'. It was put out through a different distributor than Disney here (Madman, who release almost all the anime in Australia and other cult films), so we missed out on the American/Disney content (which I didn't really care about), but gained a Japanese DTS 5.1 track (fyi).
Anyways, it came out in 2 editions: a limited 2-disc set with a cardboard case, and a single disc version. I don't know about the single disc version, but with all the cardboard in the double disc version, not a single insert (save a competition). The chapter stops aren't numerous, but still a chapter listing would have be nice somewhere.
Anyways, I still don't have a problem with lack of inserts. Just need a chapter listing an I'm fine.
Oh, and a lack of editing, OAR and no censorship.
And lots of extras.
Is that too much to ask?
